5/23/25
Grand Valley State commit, currently ranked No. 101 in the state’s senior class. Wiry, high-waisted 6-foot-2, 164-pound frame. Got the start at shortstop and batted in the four-hole. Showed quality actions on both sides of the ball throughout the game. The right-hander operated from a wide stance, featuring a high leg lift into a controlled, in-line stride. He displayed loose, rhythmic hands that worked towards a flat path. Kees showed off his bat-to-ball skills in Friday’s game. In his first at-bat, he was able to get the barrel inside on a 90 mph fastball to line a pull-side single to left to get the rally started for DeKalb in the second inning. He later reached base on a sharply hit grounder that resulted in an error. Defensively, Kees flashed quick lateral agility, ranging to both sides to make several tough plays throughout the game.
5/13/25

Grand Valley State commit and ranked at No. 101 in the class. Standing 6-foot-2, 164-pounds with a high waisted frame. Kees got the start on the mound and completed six innings. He has a clean and easy delivery with a medium leg lift and a high ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 86-89 mph while topping out at 90 mph with life and carry through the zone, complementing that with a curveball sitting between 78-81 mph with sharp downward movement. While he took the loss in this one Kees only allowed one earned run in his final inning of work.

8/21/24

RHP Jackson Kees (DeKalb; Grand Valley State commit) came away a winner from the event. Highly projectable 6-foot-2, 164-pounds, lean limbs with a high waist, plenty of room to add on strength. He works down the mound with a high front side, moving with a tall/fall lower-half and over-the-top release to create angle on all his pitches through the zone, especially his fastball, which played around 85-88 mph with tilt and carry. His curveball plays with some gradual 11/5 shape with the ability to keep it to his glove side, 75-77 mph. Flashed a straight changeup at 81 mph.
