Aidan Murphy: RHP/OF, (2022) Center Grove, IN. 5-foot-8, 170-pound solid frame. Athletic during batting practice, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 87 mph. Begins in an athletic stance with a smooth load, then uses a short stride just before his swing. Has a short swing plane and has high finish. Found some barrels with some loud contact. A line drive approach. In the outfield, he showed a plus arm and had life on his throws with a position velocity of 89 mph; had a clean exchange and smooth footwork. Had a long arm action and a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.42. Athletic on the mound, has quick arm speed to the plate with a ¾ arm angle. Feel type pitcher and shows some effort. Lands square with a falling off finish. Threw his fastball 86-88 mph. Curveball (68-70 mph). Changeup (73-77) has some action and consistent control.

At the plate, starts with his hands flat behind his head; has a straight to the ball swing path, quick hands and an efficient follow through; hit several line drives in batting practice; 81 mph exit velocity. Showed athleticism in the field; moved well laterally; showed consistent glove work when he got in good position; 85 mph position velocity. On the mound, starts out of the stretch; shows a short arm action; locates well in the zone. Kept hitters off balance; overpowered hitters with FB; 82-86 mph FB with a max of 86. Has depth on his off-speed when he stays on top; 66-68 mph CB; 71-74 mph CH. Recorded a 60 time of 7.74.

2/23/2019: Aiden Murphy, SS/RHP, Center Grove HS, 2022, 5 foot 8, 155 pounds, starts balanced at the plate. Has good rhythm at the plate, and makes a good forward move to separate. Barrel is a little flat at launch, still manages to get on plane fairly well. Has bat speed and recorded an exit velo of 85 mph. Aiden threw 87 mph from the outfield and 85 mph across the infield. Footwork is more suited for the outfield at this point, infield release is really slow and arm is long in action. Showed good arm strength on the mound as his fastball sat 84-85. CB had good 11/5 shape at times and sat 66-68. CH had good fade life and sat 71-73. Aiden has a good combo of bat speed/ arm speed, and is a good follow in the 2022 class.

2/25/18: 60 Time: 7.38, Position Velocity: INF-74, Exit Velocity: 76

Young, raw prospect, high activity in the batters box with some rhythm and bounce. Slightly open setup, uses big leg lift and stride, weight travels to the front side with stride. Hands and barrel have good rhythm to load, get in strong position to launch, athletic swing with good barrel awareness and control. Average balance and bat speed. Choppy, raw actions in the infield, glove late at times to get down to field baseball, big delivery to throw. Low ¾ arm slot, delivered accurate throws across the diamond with some arm strength. More actions and strength to be developed.

Pitching: Undersized righthander on the mound, drop and drive delivery with small inward turn at the top, some effort, arm circle works short and fast. ¾ arm slot, arm action is clean, front side is aggressive down the mound with the fastball, spins to finish. Fastball sat 76-78, straight and same plane pulled glove side or missed high and away. Wrapped curveball grip, pops up out of hand and dropped in with gradual break, thrown 60-63. Changeup was firm and straight at 66-67.
