Athletic, 6-foot, 185-pounder with some athleticism. I left impressed with the advancements in the arm action and noteworthy jumps in the overall stuff. His fastball is now playing at 91 consistently with riding life through the zone. The breaking ball has taken immense strides, now an upper-70s offering with two-plane shape to tunnel off the 4S. He backed it up some, but when it is executed it has real swing-and-miss potential. He showed a low-80s offering that he called a cutter that played more-slider like, and it looks like a chase pitch that he can bridge between the 4S & 2-plane breaker. There is a usable, low-to-mid 80s change for Henry, as well, that I've seen him execute in-game.
+ RHP Henry Haley (Cathedral): I got a scrimmage look at Haley, who is another junior arm that is trending well. He was 89-90 for his first three batters, before settling at more of an 86-89 range as the velos ticked down from the stretch. He flashed a quality breaking ball at 79-80 with two-plane bite. At times the breaking ball blended into a hanger, but a few had real bite and looked like a S/M offering. He faced only righties, but showed at least an average change at 80 mph. The strong, athletic, 6-foot-1, 195-pounder showed more control than command; I have him profiled as a reliever at the next level with a chance for three swing-and-miss pitches at some point.
Haley has taken big jumps since his freshman season, physically, and with his stuff on the mound. He is athletic at 6-foot, 185 pounds with a longer-limbed frame. He pitches with an up-tempo delivery & a long, deep, looser arm that works with some quickness to a 3/4 slot. He pitched at 84-86 T 87 with a 4S fastball and sunk it at 82-84. His curveball is firm with some depth in the upper-70s, but the out-pitch here is the 75-77 change that dives late. He showed above average feel for all.
