Committed to Central Florida out of NW Florida State JC (FL).

2014:
The 6-foot-1, 195 pounder possesses an electric arm with a fastball consistently in the upper 80's to low 90's, touching 95 twice last spring. Montgomery features an extremely quick, athletic arm and creates a lot of arm-side run on his fastball. Occasionally, he drops his slot a tick lower to create more run. He also possesses a 70-72 mph curveball, 80-82 mph change and 77-78 mph slider. Montgomery is one of Indiana's 2015 arms likely to be drafted next June.

4/9/14 Game Notes:
Montgomery easily sat 89-91 while going the distance for Lawrence Central. Montgomery hit 92 about ten times, 93 once, and 95 twice in the fifth inning. Montgomery was still hitting 90 regularly in the 7th. He featured two breaking balls during the game. The slider was sharp and ran down and away from righties around 78-81. The curveball was much slower and more hittable. His fastball has some movement at times, but gets outs at this level due to the velocity. He threw a complete game allowing just one hit with 16 K's and 0 ER. Offensively he showed decent balance at the plate with some gap power.  The junior was 2-3 with a HR, a walk, 2 stolen bases, and an RBI.

March 31st, 2014
- First outing of the season, Montgomery was 86-91. Touched 90, 10 times. Touch 91 twice. Breaking ball showed slider that has a chance to be a plus pitch at the next level. Still throws slow breaking ball. Offensively, balanced swing strong hands. Swing and miss present but big power potential as well. Ran a 4.19.

2012- An electric arm. Touched 92 this past summer and was 87-90 in the spring as a freshman. Brother of 11th round pick Christian Montgomery. Breaking ball shows signs of being a plus pitch. Has to find the strike zone more consistently.
