A top-25 prospect in Kansas’ 2025 class, INF Brody Shinkle (Blue Valley Southwest) put together an all-around impressive day at Monday’s event. Featuring a short, quick stroke at the plate with natural lift, Shinkle posted a peak exit velocity of 97 mph while barreling his best ball 354 feet and spraying line drives all over the field throughout his round. Defensively, the senior showed advanced actions on the infield with smooth, reliable hands and a 84 mph top velocity. Shinkle also ran a 6.81 60 for good measure.

The younger brother of the aforementioned Bo, Brody is a fairly highly-regarded prospect in his own right, slotting inside the top-15 for the Kansas’ 2025 rankings. Like his older brother, Shinkle has hitterish tendencies at the plate and showed a quick, compact stroke from the right side. Shinkle showed athletic actions on the infield at last year’s Junior Future Games and also ran a 7.00 flat in the 60-yard dash.

Positional Profile: SS/OF

Body: Athletic, young 5-foot-8, 135-pound build with projectability and room to add strength as he matures.

Hit: RHH. At the plate starts in an athletic, balanced stance with a low handset. Full body load back. Quick, level bat path through the zone. Line-drive approach, using all fields in BP. 

Power: 81 mph exit velocity off the tee and 74 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH. INF - 75 mph. Short high-¾ arm action.

Defense: In the infield, solid footwork and actions. Soft hands with quick transfers and release on throws.

Run: 7.45 runner in the 60.
