1/4/14 - Allen is a rangy 6-foot-3, 190-pound corner infielder.  During infield work he showed soft hands and quick exchanges.  He also threw well, making all accurate throws with a top velocity of 80 mph.  At the plate he starts with a tall set-up and wide stance.  He has a simple stride, inline with the pitcher and simple, smooth hand load.  Allen’s bat path is short and level with a middle-to pull side power approach with bat speed.  His top exit velocity was 87 mph, one of the top marks in the event.
10/19/13 - A physical 6-foot-3, 190-pound 2-way player, Allen struggled a bit in his one inning of work on the mound but showed a simple, balanced delivery with good body control – especially considering his size and age.  He throws with short arm action from a high ¾ angle with some effort.  The class of 2016 product worked 78-80 mph with his fastball and flashed a 69 breaking ball.
10/19/13 - Allen is a solidly built 6-foot-3, 190-pound right-hand hitting first baseman.  In pre-game batting practice he showed a balanced set up, smooth load and short stride.  He has current strength resulting in excellent body control and balance throughout his swing.  He has an advanced gap-to-gap approach with good extension.  Allen’s exit velocity registered at 84 mph – tied with Jack Duke for the highest among the Class of 2016-2017 group.  Allen stood out in the game going 2-for-3 with a double. His home to 1B time was 4.75.  At fist base he showed average footwork and clean exchanges.  His throwing velocity was clocked at 70 mph.  His calling card is his bat and power potential.  We project him to be a presence in the middle of the order at the next level.
