Easy gap abilities Offensive Projection: Run producer. Field: Effortless actions with quick reactions off the bat and good feet. Consistently attacks the baseball. 2/16/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: A compact delivery working from the third base side of the rubber. Shows a -¾ slot. Everything comes together well, arm works, should see jumps as he matures. Fastball: Topped at 81 mph, seen him up to 84 prior, fastball runs consistently. Curveball: Between 69-72 mph, can really spin it, one of the better breakers we saw on the day. Changeup: 73-74 mph, playable third offering.

Bat to ball abilities have always been there but this was the first time he really started to show natural lift. Power: 87 mph exit velocity. Present pop to all fields, power in there. Offensive Projection: Run Producer. Run: 7.13 60-yard dash. Field: Checks all the boxes over at first base. Lefty thrower that gets off the bag with impressive athleticism and well above average ball skills. Projects as a well above average defender there at the next level. Also worked out in the outfield. Corner skill set. Ball skills and arm lean towards right field. Throw: 83 mph to home plate and 81 mph across the infield. Ball comes out well. Clean arm with above average speed/strength for class. Defensive Projection: RF/1B. Additional Comments: I’m not sure he’s attended an event we didn’t write him up. Versatile defender that continues to impress with the hit tool.

Corner type in the outfield with fluid actions. Gets too in a timely fashion and through athletically. Arm is accurate with above average strength for class. At first base he moves well off the bag, bringing above average athleticism/lateral mobility to the spot. Very solid, well-rounded skill set over there. Right now has a higher ceiling at first than in the outfield. Two-way prospect. On the mound the southpaw has a slower paced tempo to a delivery that require some effort. Drop and drive type that gets down the mound well, finishing towards home plate. Arm is clean through a high-¾ slot. Spins a sluvirsh looking breaking ball that has depth and sharpness to it at 69-71 mph. Spins it well, showing present swing/miss abilities. Fastball has late life through the zone sitting 79-82 mph. Although breaking ball is primary secondary offering he also shows a playable changeup at 72-74 mph. A strike thrower that fills up the zone with all three offerings.

Can spray it both sides of the field with impressive juice to oppo gap. A high average type that will show occasional power. At first base he brings above average athleticism for the spot. Looks the part over there, projecting as an above average defender.

Leg lift is chest high before getting into his load and stride. Arm is clean with whip through a high-¾ slot. A low effort guy with an easy 77-79 mph. Spins a sweeping, 2/8 shaped breaking ball with feel at 64-67 mph. The pitch has potential to grow into a well above average offering, already showing depth/sharpness. Also showed feel for his 70-72 mph changeup that has late action. Beery turned in his top outing to date, impressing with stuff and pitchability. A handsy hitter at the plate that generates impressive barrel whip through the zone with obvious strength through contact. An all fields hitter that has advanced feel for his opposite field gap. Projects to hit for average and power should come out as he adds loft to his swing. At first base he brings above average athleticism to the position. Gets off the bag well showing off above average lateral mobility. Glove works well. Projects as an average to well above average defender over there.

Beery showed up with a much more physical, athletic frame than when we saw him in the summer and it showed in the box. Creates consistent timing through a simple, yet efficient loading sequence. Bat travels on a level path to the ball with obvious whip and well above average bat speed. Strength shows at contact as barrel gets through the ball with ease. Stays inside the ball well, producing natural ball flight to the middle/opposite field. One of the more impressive lefty bats we’ve come across so far in the class.

Barrel flows through load into launch prior to taking a mostly level path to the baseball. Showed natural loft to pull side. Bat speed is well above average and barrel gets through contact with authority. Should grow into a guy who can do consistent damage from the left side. At first base he brings well above average athleticism to the position. Showed feel around the bag with solid lateral mobility. Ball skills are above average. Bat is top tool but profiles as an above average defender as well. Showed an advanced ability on the mound with a quick and easy motion. He is smooth throughout his delivery and is effortless. He throws from a high ¾ arm slot and has control over his pitches. When he throws his off speed, he uses the same tempo, and arm slot as his FB. His delivery is deceiving in the windup and stretch. His FB has run and late movement. His best pitch is his sweeping CB, which runs on a 1/7 plane. It was untouchable to LHH in gameplay.

Also was very impressive at the plate. a left-handed bat to keep an eye on as he matures. Beery has a very fluid swing sequence with loud natural tools at the plate. The Rootstown native has advanced feel for the barrel with impressive pop to both sides of the field. Brings above average athleticism to the first base position. Moves of the bag well with above average lateral mobility. Glove skills are there and he showed feel for the position.
Adam is a talented two-way prospect with a strong build at 5-foot-8, 140-pounds. On the mound the righty had fluid rhythm to a delivery he was able to repeat. Working through a high-¾ slot he showed off an impressive three-pitch mix. Fastball had slight run to it and sat 64-69 mph. Curveball was sharp, on an 11/5 plane at 56-59 mph. Was able to maintain fastball armspeed on his changeup at 61-62 mph. At the plate he took an impressive round of batting practice, showing the ability to drive the ball to both sides of the field. Good extension through contact. Registered a top exit velocity of 76 mph. Has athleticism off the bag at first base but will need to play lower to be able to field the ball out in front of his body more consistently. Across the infield, he threw with 64 mph arm strength from a high-¾ slot. Ran a 7.93 60-yard dash.
