Alex Nemunaitis: RHP/SS, (2022) Ottawa Hills, OH.
5-foot-11, 168-pound. Athletic at the plate, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 92 mph. Began in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled smooth load, then used a leg kick. Had a level swing plane, and his bat speed was above average. Created some loud contact and found multiple barrels. Gap to gap approach. Athletic in the infield, his best throw was registered at 82 mph; has soft hands, a clean twitchy exchange, and athletic feet. Athletic in the outfield, his throws to the bases were maxed out at 75 mph; has athletic feet, soft hands, and a lengthy exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.45. Athletic on the mound, showed good arm speed, he had a quick arm action with a ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows some effort. Showed an athletic balance point. Shows an athletic finish. Curveball (64-68 mph), changeup (69-72 mph).Sat with his fastball at 78-80 mph.
Body Type: 5-foot-11, 135-pound athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics: Small leg kick while his hands stay loaded. Stays in his lower half through the point of contact.
Hit: Swings with intent. Has a middle-back approach. Level bat path that gets inside the baseball well.
Power: Line drive guy right now.
Offensive Projection: TBD.
Field: Plays with active feet in the infield. Ball skills are above average for his class. Very athletic, and has good feel in the infield.
Throw: Over the the top arm slot with loose arm action that has above average arm strength.
Defensive Projection: SS.
Body Type: 5-foot-11, 135 pound thin frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Athletic movements on the mound with some effort. Throws through a ¾ arm slot with good arm speed.
Fastball: 77-80 mph. Straight fastball on a downward plane. More juice to come as he continues to fill out.
Curveball: 65-67 mph. 11/5 shape with sharp break. One of the better curveballs shown throughout the day.
Knuckleball: 64-66 mph. Some shake with developing feel.
Changeup: 67-68 mph. Offering has fade action and is thrown with similar arm speed.
Pitchability: Strike thrower who works both sides of the plate. Shows good feel for his changeup at his age. Lived in the lower half of the zone throughout the bullpen.
