6-1, 195-pound right-handed pitcher. 86-89 at Lakepoint, up to 91 in the spring. Mainly a two pitch mix FB/CB with +avg spin on both. Command and feel for spin is developing.

Another advanced two-way talent for Ohio. In the box it's simple mechanically before showing well above average burst through the zone. Path is efficient, playing to both gaps w/natural spin. Run producer upside. Defensively he appears to be sure-handed over at the hot corner w/feel for the position. It's early but looks most at home on the mound. T83, arm works - shows well above arm speed for class. CB has later, sharp action w/signs of swing and miss down the road.

6/01/21

Ben Hanley: RHP/3B, (2026) William Mason, OH. 5-foot-8, 140-pound athletic frame. In the box, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 75 mph. Started in an athletic stance with a smooth quick load, then used a big leg kick stride. Bat speed is average, exhibits a level swing plane and level finish. Athletic while in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 73 mph; shows a packing exchange, athletic developing feet, and sure developing hands. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. On the mound, showed good arm speed, he had a long arm action with a ¾ arm angle. Up-tempo type pitcher who uses some effort. Has an athletic balance point. Threw his fastball 73-75 mph; has arm side control and running action. (Max spin 2136; Avg 2097). Throws a 11/5 curveball (64-67) that has gradual action. (Max spin 2390; Avg 2376). Shows arm side control and fading action on his changeup (63-66).
