2/09/20

2/9/20 Position Player
Hit: Long stance and long load with fluent and aggressive movements through the zone.
Power: Sneaky power at 82mph off the bat. Able to hit the long ball and work gap to gap. Focuses on the pull side consistently.
Offensive Projection: Early-Middle of lineup
Field: Consistent throughout his gathering and release. Comfortable with his approach with plus mechanics.
Throw: Strong long arm throw showing strength and accuracy at 76 mph.
Defensive Projection: OF/1B

7/24/19

Body Type:  6-foot-1, 185-pound athletic frame.
Hit: Shows a solid combination of fluid movements and aggression through the zone. Physical kid that generates impressive jump off the barrel. Pull side tendencies in BP. All the tools to be a run producer.
Power: 93.2 off the bat. Good athlete with burst. Easy gap pop.
Offensive Projection: Run Producer.
Field: Easy actions in the outfield. Plays under control throughout, carrying a consistent tempo. Ball skills appear to be on par for class. Also worked out at first base. Good athlete over there who plays with feel off the bag. Hands work at the position. Solid defender over there.
Throw: Over the top right-hander with present accuracy and developing strength.
Defensive Projection: Corner Outfield/1B.

2/17/19

Body Type: 6-foot-1, 185 pounds. Taller athlete with good size frame.
Swing Mechanics: Open to wider stance form this righty in the box. Has an uphill bat path as he swings. Intent nicely shown as he attacked baseballs.
Hit: Showed signs of greater barrel action to the middle of the field. Contact improve as he round went deeper.
Power: 88 mph exit velocity. Solid power pack bat. More to come as he gets bigger and stronger.
Offensive Projection: Middle of the order.
Run: 7.24 seconds 60-yard.
Field: Footwork presented in the outfield played well approaching the ball with efficient angles. Glove showed playable actions too fielding it.
Throw: 79 mph from the outfield with throws to the plate.
Defensive Projection: Outfield.

2/13/19

Body Type: 6-foot-1 185-pound prospect.
Swing Mechanics: Uses a leg kick load with a hover. Seems to cast his barrel with a downhill bat path. Has a balanced finish.
Hit: Average bat to ball ability.
Power: 91 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: Shows good raw power. Downhill bat path minimizes his gap to gap abilities and power potential. Needs to get his bat path more on plane with the pitch to maximize his power.
Field: In the outfield he waits on the ball but plays through it well. Had a slow release but showed a fairly accurate arm.
Throw: 79 mph from the outfield.
Run: 7.20 60 yard dash.
Defensive Projection: Profiles mostly as a corner OF type guy at the next level.

2/10/19

Body Type: 6-foot-1 185-pound prospect.
Swing Mechanics: Starts in a open, upright stance. Uses a mini leg kick to initiate his load. Shows a slight cast of his barrel with an uphill path. Somewhat long swing at times.
Hit: Sold barrel control.
Power: 91 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: Has some natural lift to the swing that will help potentially get more out of his raw power. Could be a guy who develops into somewhat of a power threat if he adds strength to his frame.
Field: In the outfield he shows average feet with decent rhythm. Showed a slower release but played through the ball well. At first base he showed decent footwork and feel around the bag and took good angles through the ball.
Throw: 72 mph across the diamond. 80 mph from the outfield.
Run: 4.38 home to first.
Defensive Projection: Projects well as both a corner OF and 1B at the next level. Solid arm strength and what seems to be a reliable glove.

6/19/18

A righty swinger that starts in an athletic setup. Loading sequenced is synced well, incorporating athletic movements, Launches from a balanced setup with swing showing natural loft through the zone. A middle of the lineup type bat with well above average natural tools through the zone. His ability to lift the ball naturally make him a regular extra base hit threat. Middle of the lineup skill set.
Home to 1st: 4.66
Exit Velocity: 77

5/29/18

A right-handed bat that starts in a balanced setup. Hands show a slight back load prior to accelerating barrel through the zone on an uphill path. Uses a leg kick for energy/timing with lower half. A strong kid with bat speed in there. Would be aided by leveling out path to create a bit more consistent ball flight. Middle of the lineup potential. In the outfield he plays low and under control in his approach. Gets rid of it quickly, showing accuracy to throws. Arm strength is adequate and looks to have more in there.

Home to 1st: 4.62
Outfield Velocity: 75
Exit Velocity: 79

2/18/18

6-foot, 180 pound outfielder showed an average glove defensively while improving on taking greater momentum through the ball up to his release point. Footwork is still developing with angles taken to the ball more efficiently. Showed nice arm strength at 72 mph with accuracy to home plate. At the plate he uses a leg kick for timing and creates rhythm with the barrel through a bat tip movement. Actions are athletic and create energy. Offers an above average combination of strength and speed to hands through the zone. A present gap threat with much more pop than exit velocity would indicate.

60-yard dash: 7.58
Infield Velocity: 70
Outfield Velocity: 72
Exit Velocity: 79

2/04/18

6-foot, 175 pound prospect showed a level bat path making a good contact on most pitches throughout his round. His back elbow was stiff at times preventing him from getting into a strong slot position. Just needs to relax it to create more fluidity and whip of his barrel in the zone. Christman’s lower half worked well in his outing producing an 82 mph exit velocity. In the outfield his glove looked good but needs to focus on fielding the ball off to his side rather than in front as he makes his throws home. He already does a good job of taking momentum into his throws but getting to the side of it will only increase his throwing velocity of 72 mph. He’s young and already has a good frame to him. Expect abilities to improve as he continues to grow.
