One of the more talented bats in the state put on a show in BP. Natural mover in the box with load tools that help generate easy, explosive pop. Tough to believe your watching a '24 in the box. Top EV of 97mph. Versatile defender that we've seen be productive in multiple spots. Also gave you an idea of his athleticism by running a 6.8 electric timed 60-yard dash.

Grant Wilson: SS/RHP, (2024) St. Edward, OH. 5-foot-11, 185-pound. During batting practice, Wilson recorded an exit velocity of 94 mph. Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then uses a big leg kick. Bat speed is explosive, has an upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Athletic in the infield, displayed a velocity of 82 mph; has fluid feet, a quick exchange, and soft hands. Advanced from the outfield, his best throws to the bases were registered at 86 mph; has a fluid exchange, soft hands, and athletic feet. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Used a ¾ slot with a quick arm action. Performed well in the 60-yard dash, clocking a speedy time of 6.91. 

Grant Wilson: SS/RHP, (2024) St. Edward, OH. 5-foot-11, 185-pound projectable frame. At the plate, Wilson's 101 mph exit velocity ranks him 2nd at the event. Starts in an athletic balanced stance with a quick compact load, then uses a big leg kick. Had a rotational swing plane and explosive bat speed. Smooth while in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 83 mph; had soft hands, athletic smooth footwork, and a natural exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Used a quick arm action on his throws. Performed well in the 60-yard dash, clocking a speedy time of 6.9. On the mound, showing quick arm speed he had a loose arm action with a high ¾ arm angle. Up-tempo type pitcher who uses easy effort. Showed an athletic balance point. Threw his fastball 82-84 mph; shows glove side control and running action. His 11/5 curveball (69-70) shows plus action. Shows fading action and arm side control on his changeup (79-79). 

Hit: One of the more physical bats the state has to offer. Just looks different in the box/hard to believe he has a 2024. Monster BP.
Power: Legit power potential.
Offensive Projection: Run producer.

Field: Solid showing in the outfield. Plays with good tempo and ball skills ahead of the curve for class. Our frist look at him in the outfield and he appears to have all the tools to be a more than capable defender.
Throw: Above average strength.
Defensive Projection: Multiple spots.

Scouting Notes: Mashed all weekend and then jumps on the mound showing two-way capabilities. Above average arm strength that generates velocities into the upper 70s and complements the heater with a sharp, slurvish breaking ball.

Hit: Young talented bat to follow. Hard to believe you're watching a 2024 in the box when you see the feel for his movements in the raw natural ability. Took a loud round with mid 70s bat speed and 32gs of rotation according to blast. One of the more electric bats we've seen in that class.
Power: Real juice for class.
Offensive Projection: Run producer.

Field: Solid showing in the infield. Has an idea of how to use his feet with ball skills ahead of the curve for class.
Throw: Clean arm with some jump.
Defensive Projection: TBD. Young defender with tools.

Hit: An athletic setup with a simple load creating timing. An uphill path toward the ball creating good ball fight and backspin.
Power: 86 mph exit velocity off the tee. Gap abilities
Offensive Projection: middle of lineup
Field: Plays with good anticipation in the field short choppy steps allowing him to be in a good position to make plays.
Throw: 75 mph across the infield.
Defensive Projection: Corner.
