2/9/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Regular effort delivery through a high ¾ arm slot. Arm works quick. Generates most of his momentum from the lower half. Repeatable delivery with a tendency to finish towards first base.
Fastball: Gets on hitters quicker than it looks. Shows late arm side movement at times.
Fastball Spin Rate: 2020-2080.
Curveball: 11/5 shape more depth than side to side action. Sharp bite.
Curveball Spin Rate: 2069-2200.
Changeup: Body slows down just a tiny amount. Enough to keep guys guessing.

Body Type: 6-foot, 180-pound athletic frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Over the top arm action with a dynamic lower half. Solid mechanics to continue to develop off of.
Fastball: 82-85mph with life to it. Shows potential to be able to locate on the corners of the plate.
Curveball: 70-73mph. 11/5 movement with some depth and potential.
Changeup: 74-76 mph.Good change of speeds from fastball to keep hitters off balance.
Pitchability: In the zone most of the time with all three pitches.  
Body Type:  6-foot, 180-pound athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics:  Simple and athletic swing.
Hit:  Balanced bat path that runs into contact often. Physical guy with some bat speed. Ball came off well. 
Power:  Flashed pop with more to come as he develops more. Gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Middle of Lineup. 
Field: Smooth actions with feel for his feet. Plays with rhythm. Solid defender. 
Throw: Arm fits the position. 
Defensive Projection: 3B. 

A two-way prospect that is no stranger to the top performers list. Turned in his top performance to date on the mound. Delivery has some effort but ball comes out well. His over the top slot creates natural, downhill plane on his already heavy fastball. Sat 79-83 mph, topping at 84 mph. Spins a near 12/6 breaking ball that is playable when in the zone. At the plate he has a fluid load followed by a level, intent driven swing. Obvious strength through the zone. Can do damage when connects. Showed more control to swing than we have seen in past as well. A natural third baseman that also showed us his ability in the outfield as well. Ceiling is higher at the hot corner but with his ball skills and big arm a corner spot in the outfield could be a viable option as well.

We’ve seen Jake multiple times and has always taken a strong BP with today being no different. Doesn’t get cheated up there and can do damage when he finds the barrel. Displayed present gap pop with some loft power to pull side. Defensively, he has athletic actions with feel for the third base position. Where he really showed improvement was on the hill. The right-hander took a nice velo jump since we saw him last, with added cut to the fastball that sat 81-83 mph. Breaking ball was tight with depth on an 11/5 plane.

Looked much cleaner in the infield since we saw him last. Actions are athletic and he maintains rhythm through fielding sequence. Glove looked reliable with the ability to maintain ball skills on the move. At the plate he incorporates a leg kick and bat tip to loading sequence. Movements are fluid and create regular timing/energy. Showed an intent driven swing on a mostly level path. Swing can get out of control at times causing him to pull off the baseball. Generates easy backspin when he stayed inside the baseball. Middle of the lineup potential. A two-way prospect. On the bump he shows fluid tempo to his lower effort delivery. Arm travels through an over the top slot with average to slightly above average strength for class. Fastball will run arm side, sitting 76-80 mph. Has a tendency to lose a bit of arm speed on secondary offerings. Breaking ball shows an 11/5 shape with more spin than action at 71-73 mph. Changeup has similar action to fastball with a little extra dive to it at 69-72 mph. Did a nice job of staying in the zone with all three offerings.

On the mound, the right handed pitcher throws through an over the top slot with max effort type delivery. Tall body that has filled out. Mixes in a different arm slot throwing through a low 3/4 slot at times. Fastball displays arm-side run at 74-78 mph. Curveball displays tight, late break on a 10/4 plane at 69-72 mph. Also mixes in a 70-73 mph changeup while using good fastball arm speed.  A two-way prospect that ran a 4.95 from home to first. Stood out with his raw power the plate. Has some things to clean up mechanically but the natural tools are there. Barrel flows through load and whips through the zone on a mostlylevel path. Ball jumps of his bat, especially when he stayed inside the baseball. A middle of the lineup type bat. Reached a top exit velocity of 86 mph. In the infield he was mechanically sound with feel for the spot. Footwork was smooth and he does a nice job of creating angles to play through the baseball efficiently. Ball skills are developing. Threw across the diamond with 77 mph arm strength.

A right-handed hitter that starts in a wider, open setup. Load is aggressive and he swings with intent. A strong kid with above average bat speed. Bat works on a level to slightly uphill path. Ball jumped off his bat when he stayed through contact. Showed all the physical tools to mature into a middle of the lineup bat. Would be aided by adding rhythm to loading sequence to create more consistent timing. At third base he looks athletic and confident. Hands are soft and ball skills are well above average. Moves well in and out of his funnel. Showed obvious feel for the spot. Solid all-around defender. On the bump, the right-handed pitching prospect shows a smooth, high tempo wind-up. Uses a quick tempo delivery that requires some effort. Keeps his arm close to his body as he shows a high ¾ delivery. Gets most of his velocity by pinching his back hip into his drive. Downhill follow through with a slight fall off to the the first base side. Fastball is located well with very impressive movement. Run moves away from right-handed hitters and is placed well. Complimented the fastball with a solid secondary curveball pitch. Dropped his release angle slightly, breaking-off a smooth 12/6 spinner. Mixed his pitches in well and was at his best when he got ahead with his fastball.

A right-handed hitter that starts in a tall, open setup. Hands stay rhythmic during his leg kick load. An aggressive hitter that swings with intent. Path is level with above average bat speed. Strength stands out in his swing. A gap to gap guy with power potential to his pull side. Has the look of a run producer. Defensively, his feet move quick laterally. Shows above average glove skills and plays through the ball well. Transfers the ball cleanly before throwing from a 3/4 arm slot with above average arm strength. Solid infielder. On the mound, the right-handed pitcher uses a quick tempo with repeatable motions in his delivery. Projectable young arm. Front foot lands slightly open on impact. Tends to finish towards the first base side of the mound. Throws from a ¾ slot and occasionally works in a lower arm angle. Fastball shows heavy cut movement. Curveball comes in on an 11-5 tilt with sharp bite. Rounds out his offerings with a changeup thrown with similar arm speed and minor drop.

6-foot-0, 175-pound athletic frame. On the mound the righty has a fluid tempo to his low effort delivery. Works through a high-¾ slot with shorter arm action. Arm has some quickness to it. Fastball showed heavy cut while sitting 72-75 mph. Breaking ball has an 11/5 shape with some depth to it at 67-69 mph. At the plate he uses a leg kick to initiate loading sequence. Barrel launches from behind his head and bat works on a level path. Bat gets in and out of the zone quickly. A contact guy that was able to consistently find the barrel in batting practice. In the infield he showed adequate footwork and glove skills. Moves light on his feet and has above average lateral mobility. In the outfield he gets to the ball in a timely fashion and remains fluid as he fields through the baseball. Does a nice job of maintaining momentum into his throws.
