Smooth, efficient patterns. Tools are there and come together to generate 90+mph jump off the bat. Used the entire field well. Middle of the lineup profile. Showed well in game on both sides of the ball. Worked counts, showed the ability to see spin, and produced multiple hits in game. Defensively he offers an above average skill set across the board at 1B.

Peyton Weiss: 1B/RHP, (2022) Westfall, OH. 6-foot-1, 205-pound. At the plate, the left-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 86 mph. Begins in a balanced stance with a compact load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed was above average, and had a simple short swing plane. Found multiple barrels during his rounds. Gap to gap approach. Athletic in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 85 mph; had a quick exchange, sure hands, and consistent footwork. Used a very quick arm action and a high ¾ slot. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.89.

Peyton Weiss: 1B/RHP, (2022) Westfall, OH. 6-foot-1, 205-pound. At the plate, the left-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 86 mph. In Jared Werling: LHP/1B, (2023) Loveland, OH. 6-foot-3, 180-pound. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.93. Capable on the mound, showed some arm speed, also used a long arm action with a ¾ arm angle. Feel type pitcher who uses some effort. Has a tall balance point. Has a falling off finish. Curveball (60-63 mph), changeup (67-68 mph). Threw his fastball 77-80 mph. 

Peyton Weiss: 1B/RHP, (2022) Westfall, OH. 6-foot-1, 195-pound. At the plate, the left-handed hitter's 97 mph exit velocity ranks him 2nd at the event. Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth load, then uses a controlled stride. Bat speed is explosive, exhibits an uphill swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 76 mph; showed a fluid exchange, rhythmic feet, and soft hands. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Used a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action. Athletic on the mound, showed an loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Threw his fastball 80-82 mph. Has slight running action. His changeup (77-78) shows fading action. His slider (67-70) has swing and miss action. 

2/22/20 Position Player
Hit: Lefty hitter with a nice smooth stroke that appears effortless. Bat stays level through the zone and he does a great job at centering up the ball with the barrel.
Power: 98mph exit velo with a max distance of 344 feet.
Offensive Projection: Gap to gap power hitter/run producer.
Field: Choppy footwork at times but has potential with a solid glove and average arm.
Throw: 75mph infield velo.
Defensive Projection: 1B.
Delivery Notes: An upbeat tempo that doesn’t waste time getting to business. Lower half is a little tight. Has a ¾ arm action that gets out
front to release point.
Fastball: 75-78mph with a 1900-2100rpm spin rate.
Curveball: 66-68mph with a 2000-2200rpm spin rate and 11/5 movement. CB has chance to be knee buckler
Changeup: 66-69mph CH has arm side fade w/sink

Body Type:  6-foot-1, 180-pound athletic frame.

Swing Mechanics:  Open stance with a small leg kick.  Upper and lower halves get in sync well.

Hit:  Level bat path with above average bat speed to the middle of the field, and natural ball flight.

Power:  Pop to the middle of the field.  More to come as he develops.

Offensive Projection:  TBD.
Field: Checks all the boxes as a defender at first base. Above average athlete for the position with solid ball skills. Looks the part over there.
Throw: More than enough arm for the spot.
Defensive Projection: 1B.
Additional Comments: Double in game. Talented, young bat to follow. 

Body type:  6-foot-1, 180-pound physical frame.

Swing mechanics:  Simple smooth load featuring a small fluid leg kick.

Hit:  Whippy bat with some easy juice.  Level bat path that allows him to go to all fields.

Power:  Definite pop to the middle of the field.  Ball jumped off his bat during BP.

Offensive projection:  Middle of the lineup guy.
Field: Obvious feel for the first base position. Good athlete with easy acitons and well above average ball skills.
Throw: More strength than typical for the position.
Defensive Projection: 1B.

2/17/19 Pitching
Body Type: 6-foot-1, 180-pound athletic frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Fluid actions on the bump. Arm works well and throws with intent. Easily more in the tank with physical maturity.
Fastball: 71-73 mph. Ball comes out well with some arm side life.
Curveball: 59-63 mph. Tight, 11/5 shaped offering that projects to be a well above average offering as it tightens up with velo jump.
Changeup: 66-69 mph. Tosses the pitch with feel. Looks to be playable with some late fading action.
Pitchability: Impressive for class. True three-pitch mix.

2/17/19

Swing Mechanics: Narrow, open stance that gets back to neutral after striding. Quieter loading process followed by an uphill bat path showing some bat speed.

Hit: Made great contact overall with plenty of barrel action in his round. Showed ability to give baseball carry too as they took off.

Power: 84 mph exit velocity. More to follow.

Offensive Projection: TBD for now.

Run: 8.24 60-yard.
Field: Gets off the bag well over a first base with some agility presenting playable footwork. Fields it well to showing his glovework each attempt as he progresses on working through the baseball.

Throw: 70 mph across the diamond.
Defensive Projection: First base.

7/10/18
Starts in an athletic setup at the plate. Uses a leg kick for timing as hands stay quiet through load and into launch. Actions are athletic and fluid in the box. Level stroke with some strength/twitch to hands. Contact type bat with line drive abilities. A good athlete over at first base. Moves off the bag well, showing impressive lateral mobility. Ball skills play at the position as well.

Exit Velocity: 79

3/4/18
An above average defender for the first base position. Frame fits the spot and he looks comfortable over there. Gets off the bag well before showing above average ball skills through fielding. At the plate he has a middle of the lineup look to him. Loading sequence is simple yet efficient. A strong kid with above average bat speed through the zone. His natural loft in swing allows him to lift the ball without sacrificing spin or natural tools. Solid round of BP.

6/28/17
A fluid swinger from the left side. Moves bat back during his controlled stride forward. Loading sequence is fluid and efficient. Path has some natural loft with solid strength through contact. Bat speed is developing. A strong kid with gap to gap pop. Looked the part at first base. Showed feel around the bag with above average lateral mobility. Creates solid angles in his pre fielding footwork and plays through the baseball with adequate ball skills. Projects as an above average defender moving forward.
