2/13/21

Physical: 6-foot-3, 185LBS. Tall, projectable frame with room to add muscle. Penn Commit. 

Offensively: RHH. Begins upright with feet shoulder width apart and slightly open. Hands start near ear and work back. Utilizes a leg hang with a significant stride out as he attacks the baseball. Barrel plays flat through the hitting zone. 78% on plane percentage per Blast Motion. MAX exit velo of 94MPH.

Defensively: Primary catcher with advanced movements behind the plate. Plus hip mobility allows for easy transitions in the crouch. Efficient exchange at chest height. Lets ball travel in close to body for an easy transfer from glove to hand. On throws the 2B lead leg is slightly opened up, causing disconnect. MAX throwing velocity of 78MPH.

Physical: Solid and athletic 6-foot-3, 185-pound frame with plenty of projectability. 6.95 runner in the 60-yard dash. University of Pennsylvania commit. 

Offensively: RHH. Tall, slightly open stance with the hands showing rhythm on the shoulder. Utilized a leg-hang stride with good posture through the forward move allowing the hands to jolt through a fluid, slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Ambushed the pitch out over the plate allowing long levers to get through extension generating loud contact through the middle of the field, athleticism was evident in the lower half with ability to match the plane of the pitch early and often, showed a mature approach in the box while the hands worked to contact point on time with consistency. Recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 93 mph according to Trackman Baseball / top batted ball distance of 332 feet. Took solid fundamentals with him into game action delivering multiple base hits and showing no issues with high level velocity. 

Defensively: The primary backstop is an advanced defender with ability to lead behind the dish. Well above average receiver from a low setup, butt sits low and gets under the low pitch using a soft glove hand at the catch point. Pop times ranged from 1.90-1.96 showing power out of the crouch with quick straight line footwork and smooth catch and throw skills / high ¾ arm-slot with a quick, short arm circle / demonstrated high level arm strength. Seasoned blocking ability featuring soft walls and downward chest angles on either side of the plate. C - 79 mph


2/15/20

6-foot-3, 185-pounder continues to make improvements and impressed again on this occasion. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and uses a leg-lift stride to begin. Showed a feel for the barrel with balance throughout while creating consistent back spin. Registered a bat exit velocity of 92 mph and ran a 6.80 60-yard dash. Solid receiver works hard behind the plate and has the qualities to be a leader behind the dish. Showcased pop times of 1.98-2.03 on throws of 78 mph from the crouch.

12/28/19

6-foot-3, 180-pounder put together one of the most impressive all around performances of the day. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a leg lift stride to begin. Showcased a solid feel for the barrel and a flat barrel path through the zone while making consistent loud contact. Registered a bat exit velocity of 91 mph and ran a 6.93 60-yard dash. Polished receiver continues to show development behind the dish. Flashed top pop times of the day at 2.00-2.05 on throws of 77 mph out of the crouch with above average carry to the bag.

2/16/19

6-foot-3, 170-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a leg-lift stride to initiate his swing. Displayed balance throughout with a middle of the field approach. Loses some power potential from his swing by not staying upright in the upper half of his swing. Registered a bat exit velocity of 90 mph and ran a 6.97 60-yard dash. Quiet receiver shows quick feet and a clean transition on throws of 74 mph from the crouch. Stays directional with a short throwing motion. Arm strength should continue to improve in time with additional room to add strength to his athletic frame.

9/15/18

6-foot-1, 160-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Displayed the ability to routinely square the baseball with a bat exit velocity of 76 mph. Stays behind baseball well and has a long frame with room to add significant strength in the future. Ran a 7.45 60-yard dash and showcased pop times of 2.21-2.28 on throws of 71 mph from the crouch.

12/30/17

6-foot-1, 160-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a short, lift-and-replace stride. Showcased a short swing path with a flat barrel path through the hitting zone while making consistent hard contact. Registered a 73 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.51 60-yard dash. Displayed pop times of 2.22-2.30 on throws of 69 mph from the crouch as a primary catcher while also showing the ability to move to first base.
