6/20/17 6-foot-1, 190-pound right- handed hitter initiates swing from square set up utilizing a knee to knee leg kick.  There is excellent rhythm, balance, weight shift and separation to swing.  Hands are quick and explosive lower half is present in recording a bat exit velocity of 94 mph. Length is added by some bat wrap.
Defensively, reads are somewhat tentative and Lucas would benefit from aggressively getting behind and playing through the baseball.
2/12/17 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed hitter with a tool set that includes a 6.94 60-yard dash and 93 mph exit velocity. Upright, slightly open stance with still hands. Front hip really floats with stride, minimizing impact of lower half on swing. Strength would play up with better incorporation of back side into swing, as well as keeping the barrel working through the zone after contact. Defensively, he logged 83 mph arm strength out of an over-the-top slot and would get more out of his arm if he got his front foot around toward his target and followed his throw upon release.
9/10/16 6-foot-1, 185-pound right-handed hitter has shown an above average ability to hit during several events this summer. He wasted little time in showcasing that ability jumping on the first pitch that he saw in game action for a triple to left-center field. Lucas did not participate in showcase activities on this date but has displayed 7.00 foot speed and an 88 mph bat exit velocity over the course of the summer. The junior also topped at 75 mph from the mound during three innings of work on the mound allowing just one run.

8/19/16 Butler Area 2018 outfielder can really hit. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a heel-raise stride to initiate his swing. Lucas has an athletic frame with a short, flat barrel path. He turned in an 88 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.28 60-yard dash during showcase evaluations. Although his defensive skills currently lag beyond his offense Lucas is a prospect to watch in this class. The rising junior went 5-for-8 with a double and two RBI during the course of game play.
6/15/16 6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a heel-raise stride to initiate his swing. Registered an 87 mph bat exit velocity and went 2-for-5 at the plate during game action. Showcased average defensive skills with accurate 75 mph arm strength from the outfield while running a 7.00 60-yard dash. Topped at 71 mph from a high 3/4 arm slot on the mound.

2/20/16 6-foot-1, 180-pound athletic, projectable frame. A right-handed swinger that starts slightly open and uses a toe-turn load and stride to get back to even. Hands move slightly back during his stride before getting through the zone on a level path. Would benefit by adding rhythm to his loading sequence. Showed off his strength and batspeed by registering a top exit velocity of 88 mph. In the outfield he takes direct routes to the ball before fielding in the middle of his body. From a high-3/4 slot he threw with 77 mph arm strength to home plate. Ran a 4.41 from home to first.

1/24/16

6-foot-1, 180-pound athletic, projectable frame. Ran a 4.5 from home to first. At the plate the righty starts in an open, athletic setup. He uses a toe-turn load to get back to even and lowers his hands slightly. Keeping his hands simple he is able to take a short, compact swing with quickness in his bat. He registered a top exit velocity of 88 mph. In the outfield he looked under control while taking good routes approaching the ball. Could get more out of his crow hop. From a 3/4 slot he showed off 72 mph arm strength to home plate.
