7/15/20

Physical: Strong and sturdy 5-foot-10, 172-pound frame with strength in the lower half. 7.66 runner in the 60-yard dash. 

Offensively: LHH. Balanced, even stance with the hands displaying quick bat wiggle off of  the shoulder. Utilized a toe tap stride to initiate a whippy, slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Generated plenty of pull-side juice during batting practice with an advanced feel for rhythm allowing the hands to get to the front of the plate with regularity. The lower half was fluid and played with above average strength throughout the swing while hitting into a stiff front side. Recorded a top bat-exit velocity of 90 mph per Trackman Baseball with a max batted ball distance of 322 feet down the RF line. Registered a 21.90 peak hand speed according to Blast Motion displaying the quickness he possesses in the box. 

Defensively: The primary first baseman featured a solid feel around the bag with a moderately low center of gravity, fielded the ball off of the middle of his body with a semi stiff glove hand that played out in front on the attack. Showcased an accurate throwing arm across the diamond out of a short, high ¾ slot. INF - 70 mph


2/23/20

5-foot-10, 172-pound left-handed hitter starts from a square stance and uses a knee-to-knee stride to begin. Stays behind the baseball well and shows a feel for back spin. Registered a bat exit velocity of 84 mph and ran a 7.76 60-yard dash. Showcased capable glove work around the bag at first base with accurate 69 mph arm strength across the diamond.

5-foot-10, 172-pound left-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Showcased balance and a feel for the barrel in a pull oriented swing. Registered a bat exit velocity of 84 mph and ran a 7.66 60-yard dash. Showcased a soft glove hand defensively with 69 mph arm strength across the diamond.

2/23/19

5-foot-10, 172-pound left-handed hitter starts with a slightly-open stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to begin his swing. Showcased feel for all fields during batting practice using solid balance and rhythm to register an 82 mph bat-exit-velocity.  Displayed soft hands and active feet in defensive evaluations helping him record throws of 68 mph from his position. Ran an 8.06 60-yard dash.

12/30/17

5-foot-10, 172-pound left-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a heel-raise stride. Displayed a feel for the barrel with balance throughout and a bat exit velocity of 72 mph. Ran a 7.96 60-yard dash and showcased a soft glove hand defensively. Short arm throwing motion across the diamond resulted in throws of 57 mph.

1/14/17

5-foot-7, 160-pound left-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a heel raise stride to initiate his swing from a deep load position. His hands work well through contact and Batista displayed the ability to routinely barrel the baseball with a bat exit velocity of 71 mph. Defensively the current 8th grade prospect showcased 59 mph arm strength across the diamond from first base and displayed pop times of 2.76-2.90 on throws of 56 mph from the crouch.
