The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
The maximum speed, in the direction of home plate, that the wrist is traveling. Measured in meters per second (m/s)
Arm Slot
Angle of the forearm relative to the ground between maximum external rotation (MER) and ball release (BR). Which can be a powerful player comparison metric, delivered in degrees.
Knee Extension Velo
The angular velocity of the front knee straightening after foot plant, which provides indicators of velocity potential. Measured in degrees per second.
Deception
The amount of time that the ball is visible to the hitter, after the instant of front foot strike. Measures in milliseconds.
Hip-Shoulder Separation
The difference in angle of between the hips and shoulders, occurring close to the foot plant. Measured in degrees.
Physical: Muscular, athletic 6-foot, 203lb frame with ability to spin.
Pitching: RHP - Up-tempo delivery that repeats well north to south at release. Quick arm action paired with good extension down the slope, finishing with intent out in front on an 82-84, T85 mph FB on this date (command). Mixed 73-77 mph SL with tight cut across the plate, that earned weak swings on multiple occasions. Deception continues to make velo play up, and has shown developing CH in the past.
7/28/21
Physical: Compact, athletic 6-foot, 190lb frame with a thicker lower half; calm mound presence.
Pitching: RHP - The righty set up sideways off the left side of the rubber, holding pace with slight hip coil on the drive towards the mitt. Got off the backside well, finishing clean out in front from a H ¾ slot. The FB landed easily at 82-84 mph and moved it around the zone effectively, turning to a 71-74 mph CB at a 10-4 tilt (sweeping action). A 77-79 mph CH was thrown with good sell out of the same FB tunnel, able to get slight downward movement at times. Feel for three and knowledge of how to pitch.
6/28/21
Physical: Strong, durable 6-foot, 190lb frame with a thick lower half and athleticism on the bump.
Pitching: RHP - Started off the far left side of the rubber showing feel for the arsenal and strike throwing abilities. Short side-rocker using tempo into a medium leg lift (slight hip coil at the top). Raced down the slope with good repeatability in the delivery, landing even and getting over the front side on time from H ¾ slot (loose arm circle). The FB pounded the zone at 82-84 mph with some heavy action (1919rpms, 9.4 inches IVB via Trackman). Mixed a hard-biting 70-73 mph CB with 10/4 plane and 2100+ rpms for strikeouts, adding a small fading 76-78 mph CH thrown with good sell at 1243rpms. Commanded three pitches and let the FB lead the way, attacking early in counts and keeping hitters in between speeds.
6/15/21
Physical: Strong, connected 6-foot-1, 190lb frame with present feel on the mound some projection left.
Pitching: RHP - Started off the far left side of the rubber using a wide, medium side rocker and pause before holding moderate pace through a traditional stack and athletic drive down the mound into footstrike. Repeatable operation releasing from a high ¾ slot creating a slight downward plane into the zone. The FB ranged from 82-84 mph with strike-throwing characteristics and ability to be a leader in counts. Added a sweeping 71-74 mph CB with hard 11/4 tilt across the zone, gradually breaking off the plate when ahead. Countered with a low-spin (1310rpms) CH at 76-78 mph thrown with sell, keeping hitters off balance. Feel for three and likes to attack hitters with any offering at any time.
2/22/20
Physical: 6-foot-0, 170-pounds. Lean, athletic. Pitching: Short drop step with varied hesitations before building momentum with high leg lift, sits into back side and keeps shoulders back with slight lean over the waist as strides in line to a repeatable release and balanced follow through. Long take back without restrictions; works through standard to high 3/4 slot. FB: T84, 81-83 MPH. Sink and arm side run. CB: 69-71 MPH. Slurve feel; sweeps across the zone. CH: 74-75 MPH. Late fade to the arm side.
6/25/19
Has an athletic build at 5-foot-10, 155 pounds. Ran a 7.8 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- Stands in the box slight bend in the knees. Simple quiet load actions. Quick direct path to the baseball. Has slight lift at the point of contact. Showed some quick hands through the hitting zone. Gets good use of the lower half. Stays balanced throughout his swing. Top exit velocity was 79 MPH. Pitching- Displayed a repeatable delivery and a projectable live arm. Works mainly from the left side of the rubber. Takes his time to gather himself before delivering the pitch. Has smooth hand separation and shoulder tilt. Gets himself in a balanced backside and drives downhill, low effort. FB has some downward tilt and ranged from 78-80 MPH and peaked at 80 MPH. Shows a sharp downward action with the CB ranging from 65-66 MPH. The 2023 graduate is a must follow.
6/06/18
Curreri ran a 8.42-60. Arm strength from the infield measured at 72-MPH, a slight increase from February. Fastball ranging from 70-72-MPH, maxing out at 72-MPH.
2/10/18
Curreri is a 5-foot-8, 140 pound 3B/RHP who ran a 8.05 60 yard dash time and a 5.31 home to 1B time. Offensively- Right handed hitter sets up in a classic stance with feet slightly wider than shoulder width apart. Hands are held even with the shoulder and bat is at a 45 degree angle. Small leg lift used as a trigger and Curreri places the front foot down before contact. Bat path is short and quick to the baseball and he finishes with a high two handed swing. Consistent, balanced approach generates an exit velocity of 67 MPH which will improve as he matures. Defensively- Sets up with his feet apart and glove outstretched in front. Approaches the ball with a small two step approach and fields the ball out in front of his body. Gathers the ball into his midsection and properly transfers to his throwing hand in a smooth motion using solid feet work. Displayed a 71 MPH infield throwing velocity from third base with good athletic movement fielding the ball on the run. Pitching- Sets up on the left side of the rubber in the wind up with body turned towards 2 o’clock. Small rocker step with plant leg rotating to parallel with the rubber helping to transition easily to his balance position. His leg lift is mid-chest and allows his hands to properly break as his stride leg moves forward in a line towards the plate. Stride foot opens up a little early but his finish is out in front of his lead leg with a consistent, repeatable delivery. Max FB was 72 MPH sitting 68-70 MPH, with a developing change-up at 63-64 MPH.
