Short take back with the hands with a heel lift for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a compact swing path with a two handed finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 85 MPH via Trackman. Displayed a gap to gap approach with a good feel for the barrel. Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep hop while displaying fluid actions to the baseball. Hands work through the ball while funneling to the hip before transfer. 6/12/22
Physical: Lengthy, highly athletic 5-foot-9, 150lb frame. 6.91 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Upright, narrow stance, as the knees ducked inward slightly. Utilized a toe tap stride to initiate the swing through a whippy, flat path into the hitting zone towards a one-handed finish. Recorded a T83 mph bat-exit velocity with some taller posture and contact traits present during his BP round. Sprayed it back through the middle of the field.
Defensively: The middle infielder might find a home at 2B, but rounded the ball efficiently from right to left. Sat underneath the ball and kept footwork moving, releasing from short H ¾ slot up to 72 mph across the diamond. Quick hands on play on the run.
2/12/22
Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-7, 155lb frame with room to fill. 7.05 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Started from a narrow, rhythmic setup showing loose hands and simple load. Utilized a toe-tap stride to initiate the lower half on an aggressive turn through the zone. Recorded a T83 mph bat-exit velocity during his round with a line drive approach and flat path that was adjustable to different pitches. Worked up into the 298 foot distance range with room for more in the coming years, doubles power available with good contact traits.
Defensively: The primary shortstop moves gracefully in either direction with good burst on the first step. Rangy defender that could finish off plays with an accurate 73 mph arm strength when moving to his left. Shorter takeaway and long out in front, made the play on the run as well.
