Physical: Athletic, muscular 5-foot-10, 170lb frame. 6.97 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Wider, upright stance, as the hands operated from a simple position to hit. Utilized a short leg-lift stride to initiate the swing through a flat, rotational path into the hitting zone. Delivered a consistent extra-base hit approach during BP, staying in the legs for a well-sequenced attack. Much improved bat-speed that transferred over to a T89 mph exit velocity via Trackman, then added double and single his last two at-bats.
Defensively: The middle infielder showed off rounded footwork with a strong internal clock on the left side of the diamond. Fielded softly out in front with chopped actions before the touch, reaching back for 79 mph positionally out of a H ¾ slot. Changed angles on the run.
6/15/21
Physical: Strong/athletic 5-foot-10, 170lb frame with smooth actions. 7.15 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, even stance from a slightly bent operation as the hands showed control flat at the shoulder. Utilized a short lift and replace stride unleashing the bat head through a flat, rotational path with lots of intent at the front of the plate. Hit behind the ball well with good ground power in the swing, hitting into a stiff/adjustable front side. Notched a T94 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman, working up to a near 300 foot batted ball distance at his peak (doubles power). Top of the order consideration with ability to hit for extra-bases on the inner half.
Defensively: The primary middle infielder featured a hop in the prep step, gaining ground on the baseball with attacking footwork that glided across the diamond. Presented the glove hand softly, low to the ground showing clean funnels inward, holding pace and releasing from H ¾ accurately at 76 mph to the target. Able to hold down a second base position with rangy movements to either side and hard-working traits.
