Physical: Lean, lanky 6-foot-2, 160lb frame with projection/long levers on the bump.
Pitching: RHP - Started off the far left side of the rubber using a short, easy side rocker into a high leg lift that held direction. Continued momentum into footstrike working efficiently with good separation/timing through a fast high ¾ release. Athleticism pops on the mound, staying consistent in his mechanics and really spun the baseball. FB entered the strike zone at 85-88 mph with light sinking action down, but ran up to 2803rpms. Mixed a wicked 72-74 mph, 2732rpm breaker at 11/5 tilt that missed barrels with ease for punches. Could throw in any count and baffled hitters in his couple innings thrown at PA State Games; countered with a sharp, wipeout 76-78 mph SL at horizontal tilt (9 inches HM average) working up to T2886rpms. Two above-average/plus pitches and commanded the zone in most counts, putting him in the driver’s seat primarily.
6/15/20
Physical: Long and lean 6-foot-1, 155-pound frame with advanced feel for his body. Projectability is there and more velocity should be expected in the near future as he matures.
Pitching: RHP - Hip / shoulder separation is obvious with flexibility in the arm. Utilizes rhythm in the windup with repeatability and a quick arm on the front side out of a high ¾ slot. Fastball played at 80-84 mph and well above the belt with high spin. Mixes two quality breaking balls with different shape; a 67-70 mph CB showing 11/5, two-plane action and a 73-75 mph SL with late snap across the zone. Will be an interesting follow as he continues filling out that frame while the pitchability is already there.
