Lamb has a compact athletic frame with lean strength present throughout. At the plate Lamb has a square athletic stance, simple efficient stride, and hands are short to contact. I liked how quiet everything was at the plate. In his first at bat he got an elevated fastball, got his hands on plane, and turned it around for a line drive single into left center field. Barrel shows some whip through the zone and hand speed is above average. Behind the plate Lamb is very vocal with his pitchers and seems to be maturing into a leadership role. Glove drags through at the bottom of the zone and needs to be able to work borderline pitches back into the zone. The exchange is quick and clean, arm circle is short, and the arm gets stuck at the top just a bit. For his age/class the arm is average/above average and will play even better if he can get it out of the hand a little quicker. Very athletic catcher/outfielder who long term has a chance to do both, but with his speed and athleticism he may find himself in centerfield.

Lamb has an athletic frame with an above average run tool and strength in actions. Granted this was Lamb's third varsity start of his high school career, this game was different and early on you could tell. Looked a little shaky early on handing Allen, but settled in really nicely. Pitch presentation got better throughout the night and threw out the one base runner that attempted to steal. Pitch was at the bottom of the zone, exchanged on the way up, short arm, and had some carry on the throw.

Athletic strong frame. Hits from an athletic set up at the plate with simple load and leg lift to hitting position. Hands are direct to the ball with extension through contact. Drove ball well to the opposite field gap with strength in swing. Hands are advanced for age. Great athlete at this point, moves well behind the plate with arm strength to boot. Shows athleticism in the outfield as well, showing a confident first step. Maybe the most impressive play he made over the tournament was a recovery play on the ball that he took an incorrect angle to start off, then was able to drop step and recover, making a falling catch while momentum was still moving away from baseball. Very interesting young prospect.
