After standing out as a two-way prospect at The Rock, 1B/RHP Dylan Schreiber (Waukesha West, 2027) left his mark on the showcase scene at the LakePoint Sports Complex. With his long 6-foot-4, 165-pound frame, Schreiber took a quality round of BP during his time on the main stage in Georgia, averaging 210 feet per batted ball. The right-hander showcased smooth actions at the first base position, displaying range and illustrated his actions that earned him an invite to Team Wisconsin. His two-way abilities will continue to be on display throughout the rest of the week.
6/08/23
Schreiber possesses a physically imposing frame for a 14 year old on the mound. From the right side, he has a drop and drive delivery. The arm has whip from a low ¾ slot that produces a FB that sat 75-78 mph, T79. Schreiber also flashed feel for a SL that has out-pitch potential moving forward. Final line from Thursday morning: 6 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 K.
3/17/23
One of the top performances of the day came from RHP/1B Dylan Schreiber (Waukesha West, 2027). Schreiber, who already stands at an eye-popping 6-foot-4, 160-pounds, started his day off with one of the top rounds of BP, where the left-handed hitter sets up narrow with relaxed hands, before delivering a whippy barrel to backspin the baseball up the middle of the field. Schreiber registered some of the day's best batted ball numbers as he averaged an exit velocity of 81.1 mph, with his highest being 85.5 mph. On the mound is where Schreiber really projects, and despite his extra-long limbs, coupled with his young age, he syncs them up surprisingly well to deliver fastballs in the 79-80 mph range, with his highest being 80.7 mph. As for his offspeeds he featured a 10/4 breaking ball with depth, and a changeup that played with some heavy run to his arm-side.
