Coopman struck out four batters in two scoreless innings of work in game, showcasing a repeatable delivery and deceptive arm action out of a 3/4 slot. The fastball would top out at 86 mph with arm-side life and was thrown alongside a 68-70 mph slider with sweeping shape and swing-and-miss tendencies, and a fading low-70s changeup. This was a sharp look at a left-hander who is due to rise up the rankings in our next update.

+ LHP Jacob Coopman (Menasha, 2026) displayed his athletic and repeatable delivery to our staff yet again on Saturday. The left-hander was up to 87 with an impressive feel for his pitch mix. He featured two different fastballs a 4 and 2 seam that he creates a deceptive angle with that would create a deceptive angle to both-handed hitters. The slider was sharp with two plane shape and break and the change up rounds out the arsenal very well. We continue to be impressed with Coopman who took a nice jump forward on Saturday.

Delivery: Smooth delivery, hands move up and down, head and shoulders stay on plane, sinks into the lower half as he travels down slope, lands with direction to home.

Athletic 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame. Coopman got the job done on Friday on the mound, working his FB in the low-80s throughout, maxing at 84 mph later on during his start. The left-hander has a quick arm and repeatable delivery, commanding the zone at an efficient rate. Coopman avoided barrels all day on Friday, drawing weak contact in a five-inning start before weather delayed the game. The to-be junior had some life in his FB, complemented by the help of a CH and BB, each thrown for strikes. Continues to provide upside looks after emerging as a winner from the winter.

Standing at 6-foot, 162-pounds Coopman started the day by running one of the top laser-timed 60s of the event, recording a 7.06 which is a well above average time for his age. At the plate, Coopman was able to consistently make hard contact to the middle of the field, recording a max exit velocity of 88.7 mph throughout his round. Defensively from the outfield, Coopman’s arm showed out the most with advanced velocity for his age at 85 mph that played with carry and showed the ability to make accurate throws to the plate. Coopman’s arm strength translated to the mound as the left-hander put together one of the better ‘pens of the day. His fastball sat in the low-80s throughout, topping at 82.3 MPH and was able to locate it around the zone. He threw a low-70s slider that flashed tight sweeping movement, and a 2/6 curveball with tight downer movement. To round off his arsenal Coopman threw a changeup in the 69-71 mph range for strikes, too.

Coopman is listed at 5-foot-10, 140 pounds with long levers and room to fill. Coopman impresses with the a rhythmic and well-sequenced delivery driving the ball to all four quadrants and mixing in secondaries for strikes. At the plate, he does an impressive job of using his lower half to deliver the barrel to drive the baseball to both gaps. Coopman shows a natural timing and rhythm that will help him be consistent as an impact bat as he continues to develop.
