4/21/18 - Indiana commit. 6-foot-4, 226-pound catcher/first baseman, large frame carries strength. Right-handed bat is carrying tool, barrel aware hitter, middle of the lineup type. Protected approach, looked mostly to the opposite field, lets ball travel. Contact is consistently hard, rarely misses barrel, hardest contact of the day were all to right field, double and two line-outs to right. Hit four-hole in both games, DH’d and played first base.
2/4/18 - Indiana recruit. 6-foot-4, 226-pound right-handed hitting catcher with proportional strength and physicality. Bat is his calling card. Balanced setup, mechanically quiet, rhythm in the hands, generates above-average bat speed; extremely strong through contact with pull-side approach. Per FlightScope data, registered some of the hardest hit balls during BP (105.59 mph, 105.26, 104.47), with top carries of 379.08, 372.20 and 370.79. Off a tee with wood, registered 103 mph exit velocity. For his size, the swing is compact, the lower half balanced and explosive. Moves well for his size, too, running a 7.09 laser-timed 60. Defensively, was clocked at 82 mph from the crouch, lower arm slot, with pop times ranging between 1.95-2.15, consistently off target. With his size and offensive prowess, Holtz may likely project as a first baseman at the next level.
7.11.17 - Indiana commit. Currently ranked No. 4 in the Wisconsin Class of 2018 and no. 109 in the PBR Overall Ranks. 6-foot-4, 207-pound right-handed hitting catcher with a strong upper half. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a smooth load and short leg lift stride. Lower half works well, fast bat. Line drive, pull hitter. Strength thru contact with 99 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.01. Defensively behind the plate has a short arm action from an over the top slot. Throws have carry out of the crouch, threw 79 mph. Popped 1.95-2.05. 

7.7.17 - Indiana commit. 6-foot-4, 207-pound right-handed hitting catcher, physical build. Advanced right-handed bat, shows plus bat at times, hard contact, ball jumps off the bat and shows ability to go gap to gap.

5.25.17 - Indiana commit. Currently ranked No. 5 in the Wisconsin Class of 2018 Rankings. 6-foot-4, 207-pound right-handed hitting catcher with a strong, athletic frame. Possess one of the better bats in the Midwest. Hits from a balanced setup, leg lift, linear stride. Gets momentum going towards the pitcher. Short, level swing path, drives the ball to all fields. Looks to extend and drive the ball gap to gap. Went 2-4 in game with a double, 4.61 on the turn. Behind the plate shows flexibility in the lower hands with soft hands receiving.

3/12/17 - Indiana commit. Lanky frame started to fill out this winter, up 20 pounds from the summer, 6-foot-4, 207-pound catcher. Premium right-handed bat, squared setup, smooth loading action, on time, leg lift stride, lower half works, excellent balance throughout. Loose hands, hard contact, shows bat strength, confident approach in the box, gap to gap contact, gets extension through contact. 101 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm played at 78 mph out of the crouch and 85 mph across the diamond, short over the top slot, showed it could play athletically on the infield, carries. 1.89-2.01 pop times, above average receiver, actions on the infield will play well at third base. 6.93 runner in the 60. 
7/7/16 - Indiana commit. 6-foot-3, 188-pounds, high end right-handed hitter, 2018 draft follow. Tall quiet setup in the box, hitterish, hard contact all day, plus contact, barreled to pull side.

4/23/16 - Indiana commit. 6-foot-3, 188-pound right-handed hitting catcher. Lanky, athletic frame with room to fill. Showed he is one of the premier bats in his class. Hits from a balanced, relaxed setup. Shortened up on leg lift stride from the winter. Creates leverage in swing. Line drive hitter, gets extension thru contact, consistently showed ability to barrel up pitches. Went 4-6 with three doubles and four RBIs in the doubleheader. Defensively has a short, stiff arm action. Popped a 2.25 in game. Projects best at a corner infield spot, bat will play in the middle of the lineup.

3/13/16 - Indiana commit. 6-foot-3, 188-pound catcher/third baseman, long lanky frame, slender build with lean strength, highly projectable body. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, leg kick trigger, good balance. Athletic hitter, hard contact, fast loose hands. Path stays flat through contact, 93 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm played at 77 mph out of the crouch, short over the top slot, quick exchange. 1.93-2.04 pop times, soft hands, well above average receiver. 81 mph across the diamond, showed serviceable actions to play third base at the next level. 7.02 runner in the 60, well above average runner.
5/6/15 - 6-foot-3, 181-pound, right-handed hitting catcher with an athletic frame. Comitted to Indiana. Currently ranked No. 4 in the Wisconsin class of 2018. No. 16 in PBR Overall ranks. DH’d in game vs. Indian Trail.  Advanced hitter for this age. Hits from an upright, balanced stance with a leg lift trigger. Showed quick hands thru the zone with good feel for the barrel. 2-3 in game with a double. In March popped 2.00-2.01 and threw 74 mph from the crouch at the Madison Preseason ID Showcase.

3/15/15- 6-foot-3, 181-pound lanky and athletic right-handed hitting catcher already committed to Indiana. Impressed with advanced catch-and-throw skills, pop times ranging from 2.00-2.01 consistently. 72 mph out of the crouch with carry to second. Short, over-the-top arm slot, carry on throws, plus direction to second out of the crouch, quick footwork, quick/clean, exchange from glove to hand. Impressed with soft hands receiving during bullpens. Also threw 81 mph from the outfield. Hits from a balanced setup, hands load back smoothly, leg kick stride, loose, fluid swing, short path, gets extension, plus bat speed for age, 86 mph exit velocity off the tee. Ran a 7.23 60. High-level prospect in the Midwest to follow over the next four years.
2/28/15 - Verbally committed to Indiana February of his freshman year.
