Another top-level Class of 2014 prospect is off the board after Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin catcher Mitch Trees verbally committed to the University of Louisville. The athletic 6-foot-2, 190-pound Trees is currently ranked No. 5 in Illinois’ Class of 2014 and ranked No. 13 overall.

Trees was a standout performer at the Prep Baseball Report Midwest Future Games in August, where he showed consistent 1.88-1.95 pop times. Trees has tremendously athletic feet and arm strength behind the plate.
