Future Games Spotlight: INF Sam Faith

Name: Sam Faith

Graduating Class: 2017

Position: SS

School: St. Charles North

Height: 6-2

Weight: 195

State: 19
Overall: 140

The Skinny:
At 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, Faith is a physical infielder with more room to physically develop. Offensively, he is a switch-hitter with power potential from both sides. He has athletic hands and a balanced approach. Defensively, Faith can play third base or either middle infield position, though if he continues to physically develop, he will likely stay at third base. Faith is part of a stellar 2017 class at St. Charles North, which should make the North Stars a statewide force for the next two seasons.

Scouting Report:
Physically advanced 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame. Faith impressed recently with his arm strength across the diamond, 82 mph from a 3/4 arm slot, and switch hitting ability at the plate. He currently looks more balanced and natural from the right side, but also showed the ability to drive the baseball off the wall in right-center from the left side during batting practice. Runs a hand timed 7.18 60. (Report from last fall)
