More commitments from around Illinois:

Stewart Nelson, an athletic SS from Lyons Township HS, has committed to Evansville. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound Nelson was a standout performer during the Fall Prospect Program, and then continued to impress at the PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase in October when he ran a 6.58 60. As a junior, Nelson served as Lyons Township’s starting shortstop on the Lions’ state runner-up squad.

Oakton CC landed several more prospects: Michael Woods, a 6-foot-4 RHP from Elk Grove HS, is currently ranked No. 137 in Illinois’ 2013 class; Brent Feldner, a catcher from Marian Catholic HS, is ranked No. 171 in the class. Feldner was the starting catcher for the Spartans during their Class 3A state championship run. Brian Czyl, a versatile INF/C from Lisle HS, has also committed to Oakton CC.

Billy Quirke, a left-handed hitting middle infielder from Providence Catholic HS, has committed to Bellarmine University. Quirke recently showed well at the PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase, when he ran a 7.01 60 and showcased a compact left-handed swing.

Elijah Knepper, a LHP from Newton HS, has committed to Olney Central College.
