On Sunday, October 11, Prep Baseball Report-Missouri held the Southeast Missouri Open ID.  Over thirty players participated in the 2019 2016 class.

Players profiles have been updated with times, velocities and videos.  In the past few days we have broken down the outfielders and catchers.  Today we will take a closer look at the infielders.  Infielders are listed in alphabetical order. Pitchers will be broken down later this week.

Infielders

Brennen Bledsoe, SS/2B, Fairview Heights (IL), 2018
Bledsoe is a 5-foot-11 120 pound right-handed hitting middle infielder in Illinois’ 2018 class.  Bledsoe ran a 7.87 60 and had an exit velo of 71 mph.  Lean frame with long legs, starts in athletic position at the plate, short in-line stride, line drive approach to the middle of the field, ran a 4.76 home-to-first. On the infield, had a positional velo of 67 mph, long arm circle, high three quarters release, loose arm action, quick exchange, fluid footwork, mostly accurate throws.

Braden Cox, SS, Scott City, 2017
Cox is a 6-foot-2 200-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in the 2017 class.   He ran a 7.19 60 and had an 80 mph exit velo. A physical hitter with power to pull gap, Cox has no wasted move in his pre-swing.  He has a short stride, loose hands and level path, producing line drives during batting practice.  He ran a 4.51 home-to-first. On the infield, 77 mph positional velo, accurate throws, quick feet, fields ball in athletic position, over the top release, momentum towards target, clean exchange.

Dylan Dix, SS/2B, Marquette, 2016
Dix is a 6-foot-1 176-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran a 7.22 60 and had an exit velo of 85 mph.  Strong and athletic, simple load with no wasted movement from balanced position at the plate, power to pull gap with back spin, body stays under control during swing, middle to pull approach, ran a 4.53 home-to-first.  On the infield, 76 mph positional velo, athletic actions, quick catch and release, plays though the catch, high three-quarters release, accurate, quick feet and exchange, hands and feet working together.

Matt Dunham, 1B, Francis Howell North, 2018
Dunham is a 6-foot-1 165-pound left-handed hitting first baseman.  Dunham ran a 8.09 60 and has an exit velo of 74 mph.  Starts slightly open at the plate, fluid rhythm, controlled stride, leve path, hands work inside ball, middle of the field contact, loose quick hands.  On the infield, accurate 72 mph throws from 1B, high three quarters release, moves with ease and quick feet, clean catch and release, with momentum after throw. 

Kyle Fitzgerald, 3B, Thomas W. Kelly, 2017
Fitzgerald is a 6-foot 190-pound right-handed hitting catcher in the 2017 class.  He ran a 7.93 and posted an 82 mph exit velo.  Starts in an athletic position at the plate, smooth rhythm with lower half load, strong hand, power to pull side, middle-to-pull approach, ran a 4.50 home-to-first. On the infield, accurate throws at 69 mph, three quarters release, clean exchange, fluid footwork, made all plays cleanly. 

Brad Hennen, SS, Lutheran South, 2017
Hennen is a 5-foot-10 168-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in the 2017 class.  Hennen ran a 7.98 60 and has an exit velo of 79 mph, he ran a 5.1 home-to-first.  He starts with a balanced stance, level path, hits with leverage to pull side, smooth rhythm.  On the infield, has 66 mph positional velo, somewhat accurate throws, high three quarters release, clean exchange, quick footwork, arm works.

Austin Hicks, SS, Bell City, 2017
Hicks is a 6-foot 155-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in the 2017 class.  Hicks ran a 7.50 60 and a 77 mph exit velo.  Slightly open stance at the plate, minimal load, short stride, aggressive swing, level to extension, consistent middle of the field contact, line drives, got down the line in 4.44-seconds. On the infield, accurate 76 mph velo, three quarters release, clean exchange, fielded all balls cleanly, quick feet. 

Dakota Keck, 2B/3B, Affton, 2016
Keck is a 5-foot-8 135-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder in the 2016 class.  He ran a 7.62 60 and had an exit velo of 74 mph.  Runs a 5.63 home-to-fist.  At the plate, starts in open stance, controlled front leg with short stride, line drive to middle of the field approach, loose hands, level path, quick hands.  On the infield, three quarters release, 73 mph positional velo, mostly accurate throws, clean catch and throw, quick footwork,. 

Mason Auer, SS, Kickapoo, 2019
Mason is a 5-foot-10 145-pound right-handed hitting SS in the 2019 class.  He ran a 7.35 60 and has an exit velo of 74 mph.  Hard line drives to the middle of the field during batting practice, fast rhythm in pre-swing, loads hands, level path to extension, body stays controlled during swing, ran a 4.53 home-to-first. On the infield, 80 mph positional velo, aggressive to the ball, quick feet, long arm swing, arm works from different angles, loose action, plays through ball, mostly accurate throws.  Long-legged frame with projection.

Lawson McAteer, 2B/SS, CBC, 2017
McAteer is a 6-foot-1 167-pound right-handed hitting 2B/SS in the 2017 class.  He ran a 7.57 60 and has a 72 mph exit velo.  At the plate, starts open and closes off during stride with leg kick, power to pull gap, quick hands, accelerated bat during swing, stays balanced, 4.60 home to first. On the infield, Over the top release, plays behind the ball and through catch, momentum towards 1B, clean exchange with fluid footwork, 75 mph positional velo, mostly accurate

Joshua Miller, 2B, Francis Howell Central, 2016
Miller is a 5-foot-7 130-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in the 2016 class.  He ran a 7.18 60 and had an exit velo of 79 mph.  Miller starts in athletic stance at the plate, controlled leg kick, has a gap-to-gap approach, level path, balanced throughout swing, ran a 4.53 home-to-first.  On the infield, over-the-top release, 70 mph velo, accurate throws, feet create momentum through catch, clean catch and throw.

Cole Nichols, SS, Bell City, 2017
Nichols is a 6-foot 150-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in the 2017 class.  He ran a 7.16 60 and had an exit velo of 79 mph.  Athletic set-up at the plate, attacks ball with leg kick, aggressive swing, loose hands, level path to extension, gap-to-gap approach.  Runs a 4.69 home-to-first.  On the infield, 75 mph positional velo, accurate throws, high three-quarters release, soft hands, clean exchange, long arm circle with loose action.

Jason Rackers, 1B, Blair Oaks, 2017
Rackers is a physical 6-foot-5 200-pound right-handed hitting first baseman.  Rackers ran a 7.59 60 and hand an exti velo of 75 mph.  At the plate, Rackers starts slightly open with his front foot, controls front leg with leg kick, minimal hand load, level path, strong and quick hands, middle to pull approach, ran 4.56 home-to-first.  On the infield, has a 73 mph positional velo, fluid and clean actions in hands and feet, soft hands, accurate throws.

Alex Stevenson, SS, Lutheran South, 2016
Stevenson is a 6-foot 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in the 2016 class.  He runs a 6.99 60 and had an exit velo of 91 mph.  Stevenson took an impressive round of batting practice, showing power to both gaps, athletic step up with smooth load, level path, strong hands to extension, fast bat speed, short to contact.  Ran a 4.38 home-to-first.  On the infield, strong high three quarters release, has range, clean exchange, plays through ball, accurate throws, athletic actions.

Baylen Teague, 3B, Twin Rivers, 2017
Teague is a 5-foot-10 170-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in the 2017 class.  He ran a 7.47 60 and hand exit velo of 62 mph. Physical hitter, open stance, lands in line, pull approach, strong hands, quick bat speed, balanced swing, ran 4.25 home-to-first.  On the infield, high three quarters release, mostly accurate throws, gets to ball with quick feet and range, clean exchange with quick reelase, 78 mph positional velo. 

Winston Welter, 2B, Notre Dame, 2017
Welter is a 6-foot 160-pound right-handed hitting shortstop and second baseman in the 2017 class.  He ran a 7.40 60 and had an 81 mph exit velo.  Ran a 4.65 home to first. At the plate, simple and controlled load, quick hands that work inside the ball, loose whip, hard contact to middle of field, consistent contact.  On the infield, over the top release, fluid rhythm, somewhat accurate throws, 77 mph positional velo, plays through the ball.  Lean build that project well.

Jordan Wojtak, 2B/SS, Parkway West, 2016
Wojtak is a 5-foot-8 163-pound right-handed hitting second baseman and shortstop in the 2016 class. He ran a 7.34 60, ran a 4.79 home to first, and has an exit velo of 69 mph.  At the plate, thin set up with quick stride, hand work with hips, pull side approach, level path, balanced swing.  On the infield, 69 mph positional velo, short over the top arm slot, clean exchange and release, fluid footwork, gets to the ball with ease, mostly accurate throws.
