Prep Baseball Report Missouri/Kansas held the Top Prospect Games - MOKAN August 11 at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri.  Over 30 players from the region attended in the 2020 and 2021 class.

Player profiles have been updated with running times and velocities along with a video of their performance.

Here is a closer look at the infielders from the event, listed in alphabetical order.

Infielders

Fletcher Aude 3B / SS / Paola , KS / 2021

Aude is a strong 5-foot-10 190-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 7.59 60 and a 5.14 home to first.  He had an 81 mph exit velocity. At the plate, minimal load, balanced set up, attacks ball, simple and repeatable, compact swing with middle of the field to pull side line drives, has feel for barrel.  On the infield, high three quarters arm slot, smooth and under control, fields ball in athletic position, quick transfer and throw with mostly accurate throws, get rid of ball quickly, 72 mph positional velocity.

Riley Bush C / SS / Baxter Springs , KS / 2021

Bush is a long and lean 6-foot-2 185-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 7.20 60 and a 4.83 home to first.  He had an 87 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, tall and square set up, slight hand movement for rhythm, starts slightly open and strides slightly closed, loose hands generate quick bat whip, level through the zone, gap to gap line drives during hitting evals. On the infield, 82 mph positional velocity, short arm circle with over the top release, loose arm action, smooth footwork to the ball, stays under control, fluid exchange on time with momentum in footwork, long levers and lean frame suggest added strength in the future.

Camden Careswell 1B / LHP / Lee's Summit West, MO / 2021

Careswell is a physical 6-foot-2 210-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2021 class.  He ran a 7.05 60 and a 4.67 home to first.  He has a 94 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall stance, slightly open, simple and repeatable swing, short stride, level path with the ability to drive the ball to opposite field, loose at times, strong hands, showed power to the middle fo the field.  At first base, athletic and quick to the ball, over the top arm slot, accurate throws with quick catch and throw, 80 mph positional velocity.

Alex Foster RHP / 1B / Park Hill South, MO / 2021

Foster is a well built 5-foot-10 210-pound right-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2021 class.  He ran a 7.75 60 and a 5.37 home to first.  He has an 81 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall stance, smooth rhythm and acceleration, in line stride, quick bat speed, hands work in side the ball to contact, gap to gap line drives during hitting evals.  On the infield, aggressive with footwork to the ball, soft hands with quick release after clean transfer, accurate throws, 61 mph.

Cal Kilgore C / SS / Blue Valley Southwest, KS / 2021

Kilgore is an athletic and lean 6-foot 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 7.08 60 and a 4.35 home to first.  He had an 89 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, balanced stance, some pre pitch rhythm in lower half, quiet hands, quick leg lift, in line stride, level path and quick bat speed, middle to pull side pop, gap to gap approach. On the infield, short over the top arm slot, quick actions with aggressive footwork to the ball, clean transfer and throw, accurate throws with carry, 85 mph positional velocity, projection in build with plenty of room to add strength to build and quick twitch actions.

Keaton Latlip SS / 2B / Blue Springs South, MO / 2021

Latlip is a 5-foot-10 145-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2021 class.  He ran a 7.28 60 and a 4.80 home to first.  He has an 81 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in a balanced set up, smooth and controlled load with weight shift to back leg, in line stride with quiet hands, accelerated and quick hands, level through extension, stays balanced, gap to gap line drives.  On the infield, over the top arm slot, athletic actions, glove to hand transfer on time with footwork, smooth footwork to the ball with mostly accurate throws, 79 mph positional velocity.

Tyler Leachner 3B / RHP / Blue Valley Southwest, KS / 2021

Leachner is a 6-foot-1 165-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 7.31 60 and a 5.02 home to first.  He has an 88 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, loads in lower half, some hand movement, hands work inside the ball to contact, consistent line drives gap to gap, stays balanced with a level swing path.  On the infield, fields the ball in athletic position, smooth footwork to the ball, quick catch and throw, high three quarters arm slot, 79 mph positional velocity, mostly accurate throws.

Blake Martin SS / 2B / Mill Valley, KS / 2021

Martin is a 5-foot-8 165-pound right-handed hitting infielder in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 7.08 60 and a 4.52 home to first.  He had a 91 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, loads with weight shift to back side, short stride, level path with range in swing, swing produced gap to gap line drives during hitting evals.  On the infield, arm works from three quarters arm slot, quick to the ball with footwork, gains ground after the catch with smooth transfer, plays through the ball, mostly accurate throws, 84 mph positional velocity.

Deepesh Nath 1B / OF / Park Hill South , MO / 2020

Nath is a 6-foot-3 180-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2020 class.  He ran an 8.22 60 and a 5.34 home to first. He has an 84 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, hands walk away from stride, stays in line to stride, slight lift to bat path at times, swing produced gap to gap contact during hitting evals.  At first base, smooth footwork to the ball with quick transfer and throw, mostly accurate throws, 72 mph positional velocity.

Sterling Pierce 3B / RHP / Andover, KS / 2021

Pierce is a 6-foot-175-pound right handed hitting third baseman in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 7.32 60 and a 4.75 home to first.  He has a 90 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in slightly open stance, controlled leg lift with slight hand load, in line stride, aggressive swing with middle to pull side line drives, occasional pull side power.  On the infield, quick and aggressive to the ball with footwork, high three quarter arm slot, gains ground through the catch and after a clean transfer, mostly accurate throws, 77 mph positional velocity.

Dylan Scott SS / 2B / Gardner Edgerton, KS / 2021

Scott is a 5-foot-11 170-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 7.96 60 and a 5.07 home to first.  He has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, no wasted movement to load, in line stride, repeatable swing, occasional lift to bat path, works the middle to pull side of the field with contact, stays balanced.  On the infield, short over the top release, smooth and controlled, clean transfer on time with momentum in footwork, plays through he ball with quick release, mostly accurate throws, 67 mph positional velocity.

Brayden Tower RHP / 3B / Desoto , KS / 2021

Tower is a 6-foot-1 190-pound left-handed hitting third baseman in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 7.45 60 and a 5.30 home to first.  He has an 86 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts loaded in back side, slightly open, short stride with controlled leg lift, some lift to bat path, quick bat speed, loose hands, gap to gap approach.  On the infield, fluid footwork to the ball, clean transfer and throw, high three quarter arm slot, mostly accurate throws, 74 mph positional velocity.

Reece Woods C / 1B / Park Hill, MO / 2021

Woods is a 6-foot 185-pound right-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2021 class.  He ran a 7.71 60 and a 5.37 home to first.  He has an 82 mph exit velocity. At the plate, wide base, works into back side with load, quick hands create bat whip, aggressive swing with high finish in hands, gap to gap approach.  At first base, quick to the ball with footwork, clean transfer and release, mostly accurate throws, 65 mph positional velocity.
