Below are a few highlights in the updated class of 2019 rankings:
Still one of the top uncommitted players in the 2019 class, OF Jerrion Ealy (Jackson Prep) holds onto the No. 1 spot as he continues to show off his elite-level athleticism. Ealy has already established himself as a premium talent with a medium and athletic 5-foot-10, 195-pound build with present strength. Hitting from the right side, he shows quality rhythm and timing, consistently barreling balls up with authority with a gap-to-gap approach.
C Hayden Dunhurst (Pearl River Central) a Mississippi recruit, maintains his spot at No. 2. The durable, athletic 5-foot-11, 205-pounder continues to prove himself as one of the top left-handed bats in the class. The left handed hitter showcases strong wrists with whippy hands through the zone with strength to the pull side. Behind the plate, Dunhurst has shown quality flexibility with elite level arm strength.
Louisiana State recruit, Farmer Abendroth (RHP, Warren Central) and Mississippi State recruit Logan Tanner (RHP/C, George County) both climb in the updated list. No. 3 Abendroth is a lanky 6-foot-5, 170-pound made his presence know in Jupiter with his fastball touching up to 93 mph, sitting mostly 90-91 with angle and occasional life. Although Abendroth has had a jump in velocity, he will continue to make strides forward as he continues to physically develop. Tanner, has also made a recent jump in velocity, making his way up to No. 4. The strong, 6-foot-1, 210-pound right-hander creates deception in his delivery with fastball touching 90-91 mph with sinking action.
One of the biggest movers in the 2019 class is LHP Kole Alford (North Pike, HS) The wiry, athletic, 6-foot-1, 150-pound left-hander was up to 87 mph with heavy life at the recent All-State Games, and that number appears to be on the rise. Alford has also showed the ability to spin a sweeping breaking ball that has displayed solid depth.
The top additions to the list is RHP Mitch Murrell (Ocean Springs, HS). The physical, durable 6-foot-2, 210-pound right-hander has been up to 91 mph this summer, although velocity sat 84-88 mph at the recent All-State Games. Murrell creates deception in his delivery, working across body as the fastball jumps out of his hand with cutting action.
