Elite Prospect Showcase Spotlight: RHP/IF Nick Parker

By Jacob Gill

Less than four weeks remain until PBR Pennsylvania's Elite Prospect Showcase on November 7th at Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim. Today, we continue our series of previews on prospects who will be in attendance, as we highlight Dallastown Area 2018 RHP/IF Nick Parker.

One month ago, the 5-foot-11, 160-pound Parker impressed at the Eastern PA Fall Review, sitting 81-83 with his fastball and topping out at 85 out of a high three-quarter slot from a simple delivery. He also flashed three offspeed pitches with potential: an 11/5 curveball, a change-up with fade, and a cutter.

Offensively, the switch-hitter only showcased from the right side at the event. He has an easy swing with a gap-to-gap approach in BP, keeps his eyes level, and his hands work. Defensively, he exhibited solid footwork and actions, and quality glovehand, and his throws had carry across the diamond.
