Scouting Report
11/16/17 - Siani, a 6-foot, 185-pounder, solidified himself as one of the top high school outfielders in the country with quality performances at several national events throughout the summer. It culminated with helping Team USA win gold at the World Cup, where he hit .333 over nine games. He led the team in runs scored (12), hits (13), triples (two) and stolen bases (seven) while also providing plus defense in center field. He takes strong, aggressive hacks from the left side of the plate and makes loud contact. He gets tremendous jumps in center field and has plus arm strength. He is committed to Virginia.
8/24/17 - Named to Team USA 18U team.
7/10/17 - Named to Team USA 18U trials roster.
7/1/17 - Was 2-for-4, collecting an opposite-field single against an 89 mph fastball and then a bunt single in which he got down the line in 3.9 seconds.
6/27/17 - Was 2-for-5 with two infield singles, getting down the line in 4.2 seconds form the left side. He also smoked a ball back to the pitcher with a 102 exit velo.
9/2016 - Made USA 18U National Team.
6/26/16 [USA Baseball Tournament of Stars] Registered four strikeouts in two innings of work while sitting 84-87 mph and touching 88. A Virginia recruit, he also mixed in a slider at 75-78 and changeup at 79. He has a simple, compact delivery and high-3/4 arm slot.
6/23/16 [USA Baseball Tournament of Stars] Explosive tools. During the workout day on Tuesday, he ran a 6.6 and clocked an event-best 96 mph from the outfield. Aside from that, he can flat out play the game. Offensively, the left-handed hitter takes man-hacks in the box without a lot of swing-and-miss. He generates big bat speed and regularly squares up baseballs. On Thursday, he ripped a single up the middle, and flew out twice to centerfield, one that drove in a run. Perhaps what impressed the most, however, was his defensive play during the game. Patrolling centerfield, he covered considerable ground to make a diving catch in right-center and also got a good jump on a ball to deep center that he tracked down. In all, he made six putouts in centerfield.
4/15/16 Virginia commit reached base all four plate appearances on two walks, a scorched single up the middle on a change-up that he stayed through and hard infield single off the pitcher on which he ran a 4.16 down the line. Came on for one inning of mound work in which he pumped fastballs at 87-90 with an aggressive delivery that, at times, spun him off toward third base. Arm strength was also on display when he nailed a runner at the plate on a medium-deep fly ball.
2/30/16 Virginia commit showed impressive tools, running a 3.66 home-to-1B time on a push bunt and coming straight out of center field to record the last three outs of the game on fastball at 87-89.
1/18/16 - Tremendous athlete who ran the 60-yard dash in the 6.7-range and showcased 96-mph arm strength during the defensive workout. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter exhibited a simple, easy stroke and barreled just about everything.
4/21/15 - The athletic Virginia commit has an advanced approach at the plate, showing an ability to stay inside the ball and consistently put the barrel on it with a smooth, left-handed stroke. Good instincts on the bases. Very good arm strength.
