WEEK 3 (APRIL 15 - APRIL 21, 2019)

Tyler Roche RHP / Cardinal Hayes , NY / 2020

6-foot-4, athletic lean frame. Struggled in the 1st inning commanding the strike zone but settled in and was able to get command of his FB and CB. FB ranged from 84 - 86 topped at 87. Didn’t get help from his defense but kept his composure and pitched out of trouble. Tremendous ceiling with way more in the tank. His arm action is very easy and repeatable. St. John's commit.

Sam Bello RHP / 1B / Iona Prep, NY / 2019

6-foot-4, strong power pitcher build. Had both pitches working from the 1st pitch of the game. Threw either at any time in the count. His fastball was explosive ranging from 87 - 90 topping out at 92. He was able to throw 2 types of CB, one for strikes and one with 2 strikes to put hitters away.  Allowed one hit with 15 strikeouts. Maryland commit.

Chris Difiore LHP / OF / Iona Prep, NY / 2019

6-foot-0, strong athletic build. Showed the ability to command 2 pitches for strikes. Struck out 4 in 6 innings. FB was between 81-84 topping out at 86. Threw his fastball to both sides of the plate. His curveball was a tight, sharp  breaking pitch that got a lot of swing and misses. Fielded his position, and held on runners well.

Dylan Beers RHP / Monroe-Woodbury, NY / 2020

6-foot-1, athletic lean frame. Good athlete on the mound. Good command of the FB, especially the glove side. FB ranged from 82-84 MPH, topped 85 MPH.  Lost some control in the 5th. CB 66-69 MPH, sharp and best pitch in the game. Good job holding runners and changing looks. Knows how to pitch.

Aidan Diltz OF / RHP / Monroe-Woodbury, NY / 2019

5-foot-10, athletic projectable frame. Aggressive approach at the plate. Strong kid. A big hit in game one to help Monroe win. Gamer type player. Pitched in relief with little time to warm up. Strike thrower. FB sat 79-82, topping out 82. Mixed in CB ranging from 60-63 MPH. Competitor on the mound. Cortland commit.

Sean Lynch C / Monroe Woodbury, NY / 2020

5-foot-11, lean athletic frame. Good job behind the plate. Threw out a couple of runners and pop times ranged from 2.08-2.1 in game. Two big hits in the game, hard contact. A quiet simple approach. Didn’t chase pitches out of the zone. Good player to watching going forward.

Lucas Prokosch RHP / 3B / Newburgh Free Academy, NY / 2020

Athletic lean frame. The left handed hitter didn't get much to hit at the plate. You can see the tools, runs well and has some juice with the bat. On the mound, the righty was anywhere from 83-89 MPH in the first inning. Effectively wild. Worked mainly from the stretch. Velo dropped in the 2nd inning 81-83 MPH; plenty of life in the arm, just needs to be harnessed.

Marcus Smith SS / OF / All Hallows , NY / 2021

A lean athletic build 5-foot-10. First varsity game was impressive. Two 2B’s (one backside), and an HR; all with wood bat as mandated in the CHSAA. Legit power potential at the college level. Made all the plays in the game, good SS range and high IQ. Showed good speed on the bases with a couple SB’s. Must follow.

Elijah Diaz OF / All Hallows, NY / 2019

A strong 5-foot-8 frame. The left handed hitter has major pop for his size. Hit a long  homerun. Didn’t get much action in the OF. Showed good actions in the OF during I/O. Chance to be an impact player at the college level.

Noel F. Vasquez RHP / 1B / All Hallows , NY / 2019

6-foot-2 physical projectable frame. The right handed pitcher got better as the game went on in rainy conditions. FB ranged 77-80 MPH and topped 81 MPH. Breaking ball had a sweeping action and ranged from 61-63 MPH. Dropped the arm slightly when throwing the BB. Repeatable delivery. Slow to the plate with runners on. Concordia commit.

Jack Scanlon C / RHP / Suffern, NY / 2019

The 6-foot-2 C has a strong build and projectable frame. The game against Pearl River he played first base. Made all the plays at him. At the plate, Scanlon didn’t get much to hit. Hardball on the day was a fly out to left center which was caught at the fence. The left handed hitter should major power potential at the college level. Texas Tech commit.

Dylan Hoy SS / Suffern, NY / 2019

5-foot-9, athletically built kid. Plus glove at SS. Made play after play. Plays with a bounce in his game. At the plate, offensively had some quality at bats. Rolled over twice. Aggressive at the plate. Top of the order guy at the college level. Quick on the bases. Marist commit.

Kenneth Dodson Jr SS / OF / Suffern , NY / 2019

5-foot-10 athletic build. Simple stance with slight bend knees. Noticeable bat speed, pull a ball down the line. Quick runner on the bases. Defensively- plus range and always moving during the game. Made all the plays at him. Canisius commit.

Tyler Edelman 2B / 3B / Suffern, NY / 2019

A 5-foot-7, stocky frame. Played a good game at the hot corner. Gamer type player. At the plate made solid contact, quiet patient hitter. Ithaca College commit.

Tim McHugh OF / RHP / Commack, NY / 2019

Athletic, taller frame with room to fill out. All the actions are present; flashed plenty of bat speed in his at bats against a next level arm in Joseph Savino (an Elon commit). McHugh is a TCU commit.

Joseph Savino RHP / Connetquot , NY / 2019

Struggled a bit in the first inning vs. Commack but settled in after that point. FB worked up to 88 MPH, sitting 84-87 MPH throughout. Long limbs; highly projectable frame with a tough low ¾ arm slot. Elon commit.

Alex Ungar SS / RHP / Connetquot, NY / 2020

Tall, physical build with room for additional gains. Athletic actions up the middle with clean glove exchange; loose arm across the diamond. Showed the ability to get the hands out and attack the ball with extension post contact.

Trevor Adamo OF / 2B / Connetquot, NY / 2019

Average build but athletic with some room to fill out; showed some present bat speed with quick hands to contact and solid arm from the outfield. Clean exchanges in the outfield, looks the part. Coker College commit.

Mike Benedetto 2B / RHP / Holland Patent , NY / 2021

Athletic build and still plenty of time to grow into his 6-foot-1 frame. Benedetto really had a stand out performance in a game where his entire team was hitting the ball; shows the ability to have some pop going opposite field. In his first AB he showed great vision and picked out a change up, kept his weight back and drove the ball while generating power off his back side. In the field, his defensive IQ is above average.

Colin Noftsier SS / 2B / Beaver River , NY / 2019

In the field at SS, he shows consistency; has a great first step to read the ball off the bat, and displayed some arm strength while ranging up the middle to eat up a hard hit ground ball, getting his feet set and rifling one across the diamond. Consistently putting together good ABs, and working counts. He does not help the opposing pitcher often and picks out his pitch. He has quick hands through the zone and it showed when he hit a hard hit line drive right back up the middle in his first AB.

Daniel Melillo 2B / SS / Pleasantville, NY / 2019

Small framed Skidmore commit works the edges with a FB sitting 75-77 MPH and topping 78 MPH.  Excellent command moving the ball up and down, in and out changing eye levels to the tune of 11Ks in 5.1 IP in Ft. Pierce, FL.  Featured a sharp breaking ball at 62-64 MPH as well which he worked in occasionally to grab a strike. Lot more in the tank for Melillo if he finds the weight room as his athletic frame can carry a lot more size.

Kyle Andrews OF / 3B / Croton Harmon , NY / 2020

5-foot-10 165 pound athletic on base machine with consistently good ABs.  Spreads out at the plate with a short, compact, hands to the ball gap to gap approach and nice through the middle finish.  In Florida against Pleasantville he posted a 2 hit game and then backed it up with another 2 hit game vs Class A Harrison including a clutch game tying single back through the middle in the top of the 7th. On defense, he makes all the plays at 3B setting up low and staying down through the baseball with a quick first step to the backhand side.  Continued arm strength development will keep him at 3B; could also fill the role at 2B.

Jeremy Glinski C / OF / Bishop Timon, NY / 2019

Tall, broad framed catcher at 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds. Moves well and easy behind the plate due to good flexibility. Received the ball with soft hands and showed ability to stick pitches. Accurate throws between innings, with one chance to throw during the game at 2.24 seconds. Tall setup at the plate with hands near back ear. Hands drop a little too low during setup but showed ability to keep hands inside the ball and use the opposite field. Squared the ball up multiple times. D’Youville College commit.

Joe Pagano SS / 2B / Depew , NY / 2019

Compact and strong build. Moves really well in the field. Fielded everything in sight and finished it off with an above average throwing arm. Can definitely stay in the middle at the college level. Has a patient approach out of the leadoff spot. Very simple setup and swing, allowing hands to work freely. Crushed an opposite field home run on a high and outside fastball, showing off impressive bat speed. Plays game with a high baseball IQ. Clarkson University commit.

Michael Kennedy LHP / 1B / Troy , NY / 2022

Second time seeing Kennedy this spring.  FB sat 81-82, topped 83MPH. CB was 67-69 MPH with a much better 11/5 break than the previous outing. Threw 6 innings with 7 K’s. and threw a lot more first pitch strikes.  Also contributed two hits offensively for a very young Troy team.

James Davis 1B / OF / Colonie central, NY / 2019

Davis is a 6-foot 205-pound left-handed hitting, right-handed throwing first baseman. Stance is shoulder width apart with hands high, bat with a high 45 degree angle. Explosive lower half produced 2 hits and 2 RBI’s in a win versus LHP Kennedy (Troy HS).

Evan Bean OF / 3B / Shenendehowa, NY / 2020

6-foot-1, 150 pound CF runs very well and plays a solid centerfield.  Has been a catalyst for the Plainsmen hitting a walk-off single in an opening week victory against Colonie.  Went 2-4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI vs. Troy and collected 1 hit and an RBI in a 3-1 victory over Albany.

Sean Hayes RHP / 3B / Bishop Timon, NY / 2019

Compact, square shoulder build at 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds. Utilizes an easy and repeatable delivery. Load got to rotational at times, causing front side to fly open towards 1B dugout. Fastball ranged from 79-82 MPH and held through all 5 innings. Fastball was mostly straight but did have downhill plane. Threw both a 12-6 curveball (65-67 MPH) and 10-4 slider (70-72) and both were very effective. Could see improved results with more frequent use of these two pitches. Threw a couple straight changeups in the 73-74 MPH range with good arm speed, but may need to adjust grip to create more speed differential from his fastball and add movement. Very competitive demeanor. Uncommitted.

2019 SS Zip Mallery (Bronxville)
6-foot-0 athletic, lean frame. Showed good hands and feet on ground balls to both sides. Easy arm strength across the diamond. Hit 2 doubles in his 2 official plate appearances. Short quick swing at the plate. Displayed feel on the base paths.

2020 RHP Owen Jaquette (Bronxville)
6-foot-1, 195 pounds with a strong lower half frame. Going to have a power pitchers body. Commands well to the outer half with his 4-seam fastball. Was able to throw his secondary pitch for strikes. FB ranged from 79-82 MPH, CB was more like a slurve, 68-69. Struck out 10 batters in 5 innings.

2019 OF Brendan Tarsnane (Pearl River)
6-foot-2, 200 pounds physical frame. The left handed hitter was aggressive to the plate and made consistent solid contact during the game. Short flat bat path. Energy type player. Made a nice play running to Left center saving an extra base hit.

2019 OF Brendan Harding (Pearl River)
6-foot-3 strong lean frame. The left handed hitter hit in the middle of the lineup. Made hard contact in all of his at bats during the game. Made all the plays in the OF.

2020 LHP Patrick Benn (Pearl River)
6-foot-0 lean athletic frame with room to grow. The LHP pitched in relief and faced some big time hitter (Scanlon, Dodson, and Hoy for Suffern). FB ranged from 78-80 MPH. BB has a tight spin, get over type pitch ranged from 60-62. Repeatable mechanics and comes right after you. The LHP is a good follow to watch as he develops.

2019 1B/RHP Jeff Sobel (Holland Patent)
From the left side of the plate Sobel does a great job at using the whole field . He finished the game with 2 triples and a single. In the field, Sobel shows above average footwork and reads his teammates throws well. Showed off his 6-foot-2 range to make some impressive stretches; handles himself well around the bag.

2020 RHP/IF Greg Lucien (Harrison)
Slight, athletic frame with ¾ arm slot and a lot of room to grow.  The uncommitted 2020 Righty Sat 76-78 MPH with his FB and topped 79 MPH.  Breaking ball had quick late break at 67-68 MPH and he commands the zone very well.  Not going to overpower anyone, but he keeps the ball down and pitches to contact getting a lot of ground ball outs.  In Ft. Pierce, he kept his team in the game until they were able to capitalize on Croton mistakes to pull out a 5-4 walk off win. He stayed composed and kept pounding the zone in high stress innings. With added strength he could grow into a kid to keep an eye on.

2020 SS Manny McClain (Bishop Timon)
Stands out immediately from impressive physical frame. Played well defensively, showing off a good arm across the diamond. Will need to continue working on footwork and overall foot speed to remain at SS, but could grow into a 3B. Balanced setup and presence at the plate. Had a couple of at bats dictated by questionable calls, but still squared the ball up twice right at a defender. Very interesting prospect to keep an eye on in the future.

2019 OF Ethan Krakowski (Depew)
Long and strong athletic build. Springy movements. Broad frame to add more size and strength in future. Was not tested much in the field. Impressive day at the plate. Put the barrel on the ball throughout the game with plus bat speed. Legged out an infield hit, getting down the line in 4.29 seconds. Also stole a base with ease, showing explosive burst to finish. Erie CC commit.

2019 C Ian Parker (Colonie HS)
Athletic build with time to fill out his 6-foot-1 frame.  A solid catcher with a strong arm.  Can also play the outfield. Pounded out 3 hits and 3 RBI’s in leading the Colonie to victory.
