Team Wisconsin played to a 1-2 record at the 2015 PBR Future Games. Today we finish with player analysis of Team Wisconsin.  

Kyle Antos, C, Indian Trail, 2017
Kyle Antos5-foot-11, 200-pound, right-handed hitting catcher with a strong, compact frame. Ran the 60 at 7.53. Offensively hits from a balanced setup with a short leg lift stride. Solid contact with two arm finish. Showed strength thru contact with 92 mph exit velocity from a tee. Though he did not record a hit in games, consistently barreled balls up, getting robbed by great defensive plays a number of times. Behind the plate has a short arm action from an over the top arm slot. Quick footwork and release with a strong accurate arm. Popped 1.94-2.08 and threw 76 mph from the crouch. Tough behind the plate, taking ball off the neck in game.

Mitchell Buban, SS, Tremper, 2017
Mitchell Buban6-foot-2, 170-pound, right-handed hitting shortstop with a lanky, athletic frame. Ran the 60 at 7.02. Defensively has a short arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Soft, sure hands with a quick transfer and release. Fluid footwork with agility, playing thru the ball.  Good body control on run thru. Threw 82 mph across the infield in workouts. At the plate hits from a tall, slightly open stance. Hands load to backside and a long stride. Short path to ball with extension thru contact. 82 mph exit velocity from a tee. Will continue to improve offensively with added strength.

Zach Campbell, OF, Burlington, 2017
Zach Campbell5-foot-11, 155-pound, left-handed hitting outfielder with a small, athletic frame. Ran the 60 at 7.46 during the workout. Speed plays up in games, 4.12 down the line on a bunt single. Offensively hits from an upright, open stance with hands preset back. Short stride over, slight dive to the plate. Pull hitter with a long, uphill swing path. 75 mph exit velocity from a tee. Will continue to improve offensively with added strength. Defensively has a long arm action from an over the top arm slot, online accurate throws. Can play all three outfield positions. Threw 84 mph from the outfield during workouts. Throughout the three game series went 3-7 with a walk.

Zach Clayton, SS/RHP, Oconomowoc, 2017
Zach Clayton6-foot-2, 200-pound, right-handed hitting shortstop with a strong, athletic frame. First Team Wisconsin player to commit after the Future Games, committing to Oregon State. Sold runner running the 60 at 6.91. At the plate hits from a tall, balanced setup with a short stride and leg lift trigger. Short, level swing path. Went 1-7 in games with a run scored. Defensively took drills at shortstop has a short arm action from a ¾ arm slot. Good body control with solid lateral agility. Threw 84 mph across the infield. Projects for third base and shows the athleticism to play a corner outfield spot as well. On the mound his arm works from a ¾ slot, from an upright rotational delivery. Fastball touched 86 mph, sitting 83-85 mph with slight arm side action. Curveball has slurve type action at 73 mph. Changeup moved arm side with sink, 77-78 mph.

Garrett Gilbert, C, Westosha Central, 2017
Garrett Gilbert6-foot, 175-pound, right-handed hitting catcher with a lanky frame. Offensively hits from a balanced, slightly open stance. Smooth load with a smooth uphill swing path. Showed strength thru contact with 87 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.51. Defensively has a short arm action from an over the top arm slot. Quick transfer, with a slower release in workouts. Popped 2.16-2.22 and threw 76 mph from the crouch. In game popped a 2.00 to nail a would be base stealer at second. In games went 1-5 with a triple to deep right center field, and a hit by pitch.

Isaiah Glidden, RHP, Nicolet, 2017
Isaiah Glidden6-foot-5, 195-pound right-handed pitcher, typical pitchers frame, big and sturdy. Tall and fall delivery, stays upright, can get more from lower half, throws off back side, slightly open direction. Arm plays from a high ¾ slot. Fastball played at 83-85 mph, slight arm side action, showed feel. Curveball plays on 11/5 plane, 69-73 mph, rolling action. Changeup is slight sinking action ay 77-79 mph.


James Grassl, LHP, Waukesha West, 2017
James GrasslLong projectable frame, 6-foot-4, 165-pound left-handed pitcher, slender build. Delivery is clean and athletic, shows the ability to repeat. Projectable arm action, loose and clean with length, high ¾ slot. Fastball sat 80-81 touching 82 mph, pitched with arm side run. Curveball played at 67-69 mph, 1/7 action. Changeup has good feel with arm side action, 75-76 mph. Struck out three in two innings of work.


Ben Hauser, RHP, Sun Prairie, 2017
Ben HauserDelivery works across his body, closed landing, works around a firm front side. Arm action is shorter, strong arm, over the top slot. Fastball touched 85 mph, mostly straight four seam action, sat 80-84 mph in game. Curveball sat 68-71 mph, breaks on a 12/6 plane. Changeup has fade to arm side at 75 mph.



Ryan Hoerter, RHP, Indian Trail, 2017
Ryan HoerterHighly projectable frame, long and lean, lose athletic actions, 6-foot-4, 170-pounds. Repeatable delivery, athletic, works directionally toward target, slightly across body with closed toe landing. Arm action is loose, projectable, high ¾ slot. Fastball has slight arm side action, 81-83 mph, projects for more in the tank. Curveball worked at 71-73 mph, 11/5 action with feel.


Nolan Rebernick, RHP, Union Grove, 2017
Nolan Rebernick6-foot-2, 170-pound right-handed pitcher, lean frame, projects. Delivery has rhythm, works online. Arm action is loose, high ¾ slot, showed arm speed. Fastball touched 86 mph early in outing, sat 82-84 mph with some action. Curveball played at 73-75 mph, 11/5 plane. Splitter has downer action at 70-72 mph. Also showed a changeup at 75 mph.


Alex Rodriguez, SS, Cudahy, 2017
Alex Rodriguez5-foot-8, 150-pound, right-handed hitting shortstop with an athletic frame and present strength. Solid runner in the 60 running a 6.90. At the plate hits from a wide stance with a deep load to backside, and leg lift trigger. Solid contact when timing is right. Showed strength thru contact with 87 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively has a low center of gravity with fluid footwork and soft hands. Quick transfer and release. Showed solid lateral agility in workouts and at games. Can play both middle infield positions. Threw 82 mph across the infield during workouts. Went 2-7 with a walk and a run scored in games.

Nicholas Urban-Michalak, SS, Racine Park, 2017
Nicholas Urban-Michalak6-foot-1, 168-pound, right-handed hitting utility player with an athletic frame. Quick-twitch athlete. Ran a Team Wisconsin best 6.76 60-yard dash. In game hit a high chopped back to the mound and beat it out for a single running 4.12 down the line from the right side. Showed off big time arm strength in the workouts throwing 87 mph from the outfield and 88 mph across the infield. Still raw at present as he works on harnessing his tools in game. Quick-twitch athleticism in the infield with good range and a quick arm action. Profiles for the infield. At the plate hits from a slightly open stance with a toe tap stride, and linear lower half. Strength thru contact with 87 mph exit velocity from a tee. Went 3-8 in games with a triple and two stolen bases.
