Game Performance

Comments

10/11/19

6-foot-1, 195 pounds; thick lower-half. Throws from an OT slot; lands glove-side. Slot allows for downward plane on FB, which sat 82-84 in first three innings. Kept velocity throughout outing and FB proved to be heavy with weak barrels on contact. Curveball had sharp 12/6 action and located well; 70-72 mph. Medley showed advanced feel for a sinking changeup at 73. Solid command of all three pitches, which played a huge role in a complete game no-hitter.

9/08/19

The ‘22 grad showed a breaking ball that was a curveball/slider combo. The arm and delivery are clean and he throws from a high ¾ slot. The breaking ball took nice shape and was anywhere from 72-75 mph. The fastball was “heavy” with some sink. He was consistently 82-83 mph and touched 84 mph on several occasions. Has a bulldog tye mentality on the mound. Interesting ‘22 to follow.

6/25/19

Physical ‘22 player that competes on the mound. Showed a nice tight breaking ball with depth that has swing and miss potential. The delivery is clean and tight and has a ton of upside as a RHP. Showed some cut on the FB up to 81 mph. The breaking ball was 72 mph and took nice shape out of the hand. In the OF, he showed nice reaction to balls of the bat and tracked balls well. The arm strength is there as he was 81 mph from the OF and throws stayed on line. At the plate he started with an even stance and showed some tilt in the bat path. There is definite juice off the barrel, especially to the pull side. The hands are physical and the rhythm in the swing translates well.

4/27/19

Right-handed pitcher came out of the pen with a fastball that worked 78-80 and mixed in a upper-60s breaking ball.

1.20.19- one of the younger players at the event but his skills set up well for the future. In OF drills he showed a plus arm for his age and repeated accuracy to the plate. Does a nice job of staying through his throw. At the plate he starts with a narrow stance and a flat barrel behind his head. Showed some tilt with the barrel through the zone which created some juice to the pull side. On the mound, his FB was up to 80 mph with solid mechanics that will only get better as he gets older. Was able to command both sides of the plate with his FB and offspeed pitches. His slider showed solid spin and has a chance to be an out pitch. Interesting, physical 2022 player
