Bay Area World Series 2020 (BAWS) - Uncommitted; Though not presently ranked he IS a rankable talent; Physical specimen w/tools and talents to match the physicality. Taken into full context, the run tool, the arm, the power & bat speed are all plus tools and put him into some pretty exclusive company. Usability of the abilities is the key and he's getting closer to putting it all together.

2/18/20

At Sobrato: Kissee has made some physical advancements in the frame adding more athleticism to an already strong frame and showing that translate to his tools at the plate and the field. Offensively he starts open with hands at the back shoulder and some wiggle utilizing a toe tap to work behind the baseball with an upward bat path. The front arm can get rigid creating length in the swing and when he’s more fluid in his load the bat gets out easier and allows his natural strength to come out. That was evident in his 2nd AB when he lasered a ball down the RF line for an easy double showing the ability to turn up the speed when needing it (4.80T); liked how he busted out of the box on a hard ground ball at the SS in his 2nd AB (4.40 H-1st). Defensively, he started at 3rd and showed fair lateral range with enough arm strength to fit the position; I’ve seen him in corner OF as well and think he’s got the ability to fit corners in the INF/OF. The advanced strength is evident and will allow him to continue to make improvements.

Fall tournament - Uncommitted; Having seen Kissee a few times, the expectation when seeing him is that I will see a physical hitter (physical athletic body as well) with plus bat speed and legitimate raw power. Those attributes again showed up in this look when he went 2-for-3. One knock was an infield single, as he does have decent speed at his size. The other knock was a ringing double to right-centerfield, along with a strikeout on a fastball away. He rarely gets cheated, even in two-strike counts, which is part of his development he will have to improve to gain trust from college recruiters. His power is real, the question is whether he will be able to routinely get to that power against good competition. Generally shows a pull-side approach but with his strength he can be late and still drive the ball the opposite way. How he handles offspeed pitches will also be a key to his future development as a well-rounded hitter.

5/31/19

BAWS 2019 - Physical large frame with lower waist and length in the torso; current muscle in the frame with some athleticism (7.25 60 yd). Tall narrow stance slightly opened with high back elbow; toe tap with hand wiggle in load staying behind the baseball and hitting over firm front side. Barrel is quick with strength showing in his wrists and hands; barrel has some length to the zone with direct path using his strength over bat speed. Showed strength in line drives to the pullside flashing some pop with ability to backspin the ball (89 EV). Moves well in OF with good feet showing higher hop when loading up body for throws; mid-slot arm is compact having some pushy actions (81 MPH). Swang the bat well during the games with some hard contact to both gaps for 2B and single; will need to shorten up swing to limit swing and miss.

4/05/19

At Pioneer Uncommitted. Large frame with squared shoulders and length in the limbs. Athletic in LF with fringy arm able to make plays over his shoulder and open his hips to track the ball. Flashes bat speed with swing having a bit of length, just missing a couple of pitches. Results weren’t great (2K, lineout), but have seen him a few times in Summer and actions in swing are things he can build upon.

10/29/18

10/27-10/29/18 Fall tournament - Physically impressive 6-foot-2 180-pounds, tested quite well during BP session, physical with bat speed, those talents showed up in game action as well with multiple hard barrel contact at-bats in the middle of the field. Swing is short and he muscles the bat with a short finish and little extension but he gets to it in good shape.
