RHP Adam Gerl (Lincoln-Way West) is another arm for Team 6 that showed well - punching out three over his two innings of work. Gerl presents a sturdy frame at 5-foot-8, 177-pounds, and showed strike feel with his two-pitch mix. His fastball sat 80-83 mph (T84) with arm-side run (avg. 15.3” HM) to it, while the curveball showed 11/5 bite at 70-74 mph.
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 5-8, 177-pounds.
Delivery: Stretch only, simple delivery, methodical tempo into a medium leg-lift, holds a slight pre-bend in the back knee down the mound, works in-line.
Arm Action: RH. Compact, shorter arm path, low 3/4 slot.
FB: T85, 80-83 mph. Sinking fastball, thrown mostly glove-side. T2323, 2025 average rpm.
CB: 71-74 mph. Complements well with the fastball, has a late 11/5 break, throws low in the zone. T2176, 2026 average rpm.
OF/RHP Adam Gerl (Lincoln-Way West, 2025) was impressive on both sides of the ball at Joliet. The right-handed hitter showed above-average power with a max exit velocity of 94.8 mph, averaging 87 mph with a max distance of 340’. He also showed well above-average arm strength on the mound, reaching up to 85 mph to pair with a short 11/5 curveball and a late fading changeup. Ran a 7.09 laser-timed 60.
