1/27/26
Verbally committed to Wisconsin-Whitewater for baseball and football.
3/28/25

RHP Andrew Dawson, Oak Forest, 2026 Uncommitted. Stands in a 6-foot-2, 174-pound frame. Started on the mound for the Bengals. Although it wasn’t his most polished look, he impressed with his 84-88 mph fastball that was up to 89 mph. He also mixed in a curveball that sat 69-71 mph and a change-up at 74-77 mph. A name to continue to monitor this spring and moving forward.

3/07/25

RHP Andrew Dawson (Tremont, 2026) is a strong, athletic arm that owns a 6-foot, 187-pound frame. He’s a quick mover with minimal wasted movement and a compact, quick arm action. Dawson made some clear strides over the off-season, showing an 88-91 mph fastball that topped out at 92 mph with some life through the zone. Dawson’s breaking balls look to still be developing, but they have quality shape at times. His upper-70s changeup rounds out his four-pitch mix, and it played with heavy fade (avg. 17.4 inches HM). Uncommitted, Dawson is an arm-to-know in the class.

8/26/24

RHP Andrew Dawson (Oak Forest) showed some intrigue over his two innings of work. Listed at 6-foot-1, 174-pounds, the right-hander consistently was able to land his slider for strikes at the bottom of the zone, getting some ugly swings from opposing hitters while playing in the low-70s. His fastball helped set up his slider, playing with life out of a similar release window in the 81-85 mph range, topping out at 86 mph.

6/20/23

RHP/SS Andrew Dawson (Oak Forest, 2026) is a 5-foot-11, 153-pound right-handed pitcher who had one of the better days on the mound. He works with a segmented drop/drive delivery paired with a quick and clean arm working out of a high ¾ slot. Dawson navigated a three-pitch mix with the fastball sitting 82-85 mph, topping out at 86.5 mph (an event high) with arm-side run that worked better to the glove side. The off-speed consisted of a curveball that had 12/6 shape with sharp downer action, and then a changeup that had sinking action playing well off of the fastball. Dawson also flashed one of the stronger arms among the infield group at the event with an 82 mph max velocity from across the diamond.
