LHP Anthony Karbowski (Hampshire, 2025) Louisville commit. Karbowski comes in at a well proportioned 6-foot-3, 205-pound frame and showcased a strong feel for spin in Sunday’s 11-4 victory. He spun his fastball up to 2500 rpm, and sat 86-89 mph. He displayed a high spin rate on his slider topping out in the low-2900s, sitting 76-78 mph. He also threw an above average changeup at 75-76 mph. The left-hander possessed a controlled delivery with a loose ¾ arm slot that demonstrated repeatability. An overall impressive outing on the mound for the Louisville commit, and No. 50 player in the state of Illinois.

LHP Anthony Karbowski (Hampshire, 2025; Louisville commit) was another arm that showed an intriguing three-pitch mix in his ‘pen. Plenty physical at 6-foot-3, 205-pounds, Karbowksi’s fastball played at 89-90 mph and spun on average at 2538 RPM, T2642 RPM. He threw his slider from nearly the same release height as his fastball, spinning it at 2675 RPM on average at 78-79 mph. Karbowski also featured a low lift, low spin (860 RPM) knuckle ball that he flashed a feel for the zone with at 74-77 mph.

LHP/1B Anthony Karbowski (Hampshire; Louisville commit) gave a strong two-way look on Saturday as the No. 47 ranked player in the state. On this day, Karbowski had a strong feel for both of his off-speed pitches while working his fastball in the 89-90 mph range with an average spin rate of 2538 rpm (an event high). His slider found the zone 60% of the time with feel to spin as well (avg. 2675 rpm). He also mixed in a knuckleball that killed spin and landed in the zone to go as his third pitch. At the plate, the right-handed hitter created easy jump off the barrel with a max EV of 98.3 mph, reaching over 80 mph for his bat-speed at times.

LHP/1B Anthony Karbowski (Hampshire, 2025) entered this event as one of the top prospects on paper, and solidified his status as a name-to-know southpaw in the Illinois’ sophomore class. At 6-foot-2, 180-pounds, Karbowski pumped his fastball from a fluid, up-tempo delivery at 84-86 mph, topping at 87 mph on his firmest bullet. Karbowski also spun a low-70s breaking ball with sweeping action, peaking at 2,486 RPM on his highest spun pitch, while averaging nearly 2,300+ RPM as well. At the plate, Karbowski elevated contact to the pull-side from an athletic right-handed swing throughout his round of BP. Already slotted inside the top-50 prospects in the Illinois’ 2025 class, Karbowski generated positive momentum at this event heading into an integral off-season.

Delivery: Hands rock over head to initiate an athletic drop/drive type delivery, works closed off from target to footstrike, athletic finish through release.
Arm Action: LH. Long and loose arm action, 3/4 slot.
FB: T87, 85-87 mph. Ball jumps out the hand with life up in the zone. T2497, 2369 average rpm.
CB: 68-73 mph. 2/8 shape, sweeps it from a similar fastball slot. Knuckle-curve grip. T2486, 2267 average rpm.
KN: 69-70 mph. Thrown with intent, knuckling action. 

Hit: RHH. Balanced setup, quick hand waggle to a back load, leg lift trigger, short stride. Athletic swing, on plane and natural lift throughout. Pull-side, lifted tendencies.
Power: 93 max exit velocity, averaged 85.6 mph. 307’ max distance.
Arm: LH. INF - 84 mph. Loose/clean arm path, 3/4 slot.
Defense: Athletic actions, smooth/soft hands, fluid footwork, plays around and through the baseball.
Run: 7.42 runner in the 60.

LHP Anthony Karbowski (Hampshire, 2025) is a fluid-moving southpaw that works from a 6-foot, 165-pound frame. His delivery seems effortless down the mound, working with a drop/drive lower-half into an athletic stride. With a long, loose high ¾ slot, he ran his fastball up to 83 mph, maintaining 80-82 throughout his ‘pen with slight arm-side action. The left-hander then went to a short 1/7 breaking ball at 66-68 mph, occasionally getting on the side of it and creating 2/8 shape, but thrown at fastball arm-speed and looking to pair off his fastball nicely.

Arm Action: LH. Long arm action, plays loose and easy from a high 3/4 arm slot.
FB: T82.6, 79.6-81.8 mph. Plays straight. Two-seam action at times. Life through the zone. T2282, 2172 average rpm.
CB: 65.7-68.1 mph. 12/6 shape. Slow, gradual break. Depth. Good feel for the zone. T2144, 2082 average rpm.

Hit: RHH. Balanced setup, short stride. Direct path to contact. Line-drive hitter. Gap-to-gap approach.
Power: 86.8 max exit velocity, averaged 79.2 mph. 304’ max distance.
Arm: LH. INF - 76 mph. Short arm action, high 3/4 arm slot.
Defense: Sure-handed. Clean exchange.
Run: 7.83 runner in the 60.
