SO LHP Ben Carlile (Manteno) displayed a quality three-pitch mix throughout his ‘pen. He’s a simple, athletic mover, working into a shorter/medium balance point before transitioning into a tall/fall lower-half while staying in-line. Compact arm action, plays from a high ¾ release. His fastball played in the 85-87 mph range, topping out at 88 mph with some carry and run through the zone. The curveball sat around 75-76 mph, showing 1/7 shape with some sharp action at times and depth. His final offering was a changeup around 80 mph with running action to his arm-side. Last spring, Carline struck out 38 against 12 walks in 29 innings of work.

Delivery: Uptempo tall-and-fall, colapse the front leg, long stride, lands sqaured to home.

Hit: L. Balance, open stance, smooth arm bar load, short stride. Strong hands, short, direct swing, level through the zone, whole field approach.
Power: max exit velocity, averaged mph. ’ max distance.
Arm: L. INF - 65 mph. Short arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Fluid footwork around the bag, clean transfer to second.
Run: 8.10 runner in the 60.

Delivery: Tall/fall type delivery, front toe lands closed, works on line to target with an athletic finish.
Arm Action: LH. Short arm action, high 3/4 slot. Quick draw.
FB: T75, 73-74 mph. Plays straight towards glove-side corner of plate.
CB: 60-62 mph. 1/7 shape with late break at times. Flashed feel to spin.
CH: 64-67 mph. Maintains near fastball arm speed.
Hit: LHH. Quite wide setup, minimal load and short stride. Simple repeatable swing, level path, controls the barrel, works the pull-side gap and finishes on balance.
Power: 81 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Arm: LH. INF - 64 mph. Short and loose arm action, high 3/4 slot; throws played easy and accurate across the diamond.
Defense: Feel for the first base bag, smooth hands, funnels through release at times and plays through the baseball.
Run: 8.44 runner in the 60.
