6-foot-3, 240-pound frame that’s leaned out and added more muscle since our latest in-game look. Ultra-physical athlete that wields one of the loudest right-handed bats in Illinois. Bashed a ball off the center field fence in his first at-bat of the entire tournament and flashed true impact power at times as the weekend went on. Recorded a 108 mph max exit velocity at the Rhino Scout Day last September in BP off a TrackMan.

Uncommitted, 6-foot-3, 240-pound, wide-shouldered, strong, right-handed hitting first baseman. Had a huge offensive game for the Panthers in the first game of the day. Finished 2-for-3 with a home run, triple, walk and six RBI. Possesses some of the best raw power in the Illinois’ 2023 class. Launched a deep three-run home run to left-center field in his final at-bat of the game that had to cut through heavy wind. Also, drove a ball to right that resulted in a triple. Fluid swing, stays short and uphill through the zone. Will sell out for power at times. Intriguing right-handed power bat to follow moving forward.

Body: 6-3, 250-pounds. Advanced raw power in his right-handed bat.
Hit: RHH. Balanced setup, pre-pitch wrap load, leg kick stride. Strong quick hands, long uphill swing, works power to the pull side.
Power: 107.5 max exit velocity, averaged 99.61 mph. 389’ max distance. Easy power.
Arm: RH. INF - 78 mph. Long arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Pre-pitch hop, fields low with soft hands, fluid footwork around the bag.
Run: 7.79 runner in the 60.

1B Cade Duffin’s (Oswego, 2023) round of batting practice earned a double take. His batted-ball profile, per TrackMan, slotted him amongst a premium group of hitters, as he averaged an exit speed in BP of 99.6 mph, with a 107.5 high on a ball struck on a direct line-drive into the left-center gap. He’s also clearly able to generate advanced bat speed, producing an average mark of 81.2 mph, according to our Blast sensor. Duffin’s built at a stout 6-foot-3, 250 pounds, featuring obvious inherent strength thus creating a substantial power profile. With that being said, Duffin ranges around first base well for his size and he ran a 7.79 at this event, though he recorded a 7.41 at an event earlier this winter.

Power: 102.6 max exit velocity, averaged 90.14 mph. 354’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 76 mph. Short arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Feet get staggered, fields low to the ground, average hands.
Run: 7.41 runner in the 60.
