Another two-way standout from Saturday’s All-State was INF/RHP Drew Borkowski III (Huntley, 2026), who also stood out at the McHenry Preseason ID earlier this winter. At 6-foot-1, 168-pounds, Borkowski flashed bat strength at the plate with a max exit velocity of 99.1 mph and peak batted distance at 355 feet. He tied for the event lead in max infield velocity (T92 mph) and that arm strength showed on the mound too, pitching at 88-90 mph with his fastball. Borkowski’s slider showed heavy horizontal action; he threw it at 75-76 mph and reached -20.8 inches of horizontal movement at its’ peak, the highest mark of the event.

INF/RHP Drew Borkowski (Huntley, 2026) continues to impress with legitimate two-way ability, and he’s currently slotted at No. 28 in the state. At the plate, the right-handed hitter delivered a heavy barrel with a max EV of 99.1 mph and max distance of 355’, swinging with controlled aggression and intent to do damage. He has fluid actions on the infield, moving well laterally with steady hands. Premium arm-strength, topping out at 92 mph across the diamond. On the mound, Borkowski has an impressive arm that creates a fastball in the 88-89 mph range, reaching up to 90 mph with carry/run through the zone. He showed both a curveball and a slider, with the curveball playing with more depth at 73-75 mph, and the slider coming in with more lateral action at 74-76 mph. His final offering was a changeup at 80-81 mph, playing with over 14” of run consistently.

INF/RHP Drew Borkowski (Huntley, 2026) impressed with one of the best all-around showings on the entire day. Athletic looking frame, listed at 6-foot-2, 170-pounds with lean strength and plenty of room to add on muscle. Currently ranked No. 28 in the state, Borkowski got his day started with a 3.87 in the 30-yard dash, good enough for second best in the entire event. The right-handed hitter has an athletic/balanced swing, working with loose/whippy arms through the zone with intent to elevate up the middle of the field, reaching up to 91.3 mph for his max EV with more power to come as he fills out. Defensively, Borkowski has steady actions and gets around the baseball, playing through with rhythm and intent. His arm is well above-average across the infield, reaching up to 91 mph with a loose/whippy arm action, delivering accurate strikes across the diamond. The right-hander gave one of the more intriguing looks on the mound as well, working with a controlled leg-lift into a medium balance point, he fires down the mound with a closed off front hip while remaining in-line with the plate. He has a long arm swing out of the glove that transitions into a high ¾ slot with some intent behind it. His fastball worked in the 87-89 mph range with late arm-side run, setting up a curveball/slider duo that both have out-pitch potential, just developing feel at the moment. His final offering was a changeup in the 81-84 mph range that plays with over 17” of run at times, flashing some feel around the zone with it. All-around impressive athlete that has true next-level potential on both sides of the ball.

INF/RHP Drew Borkowski III (Huntley) emerged as a name to know in the 2026 class. The two-way prospect has advanced tools across the board. The freshman tied for second with a 25.5 mph average hand speed. The right-handed hitter creates the bat speed with normal effort, stays through the zone a long time with a middle of the field approach and was all over the barrel with an average exit velocity of 85.8 mph. Defensively, Borkowski showed feel on the infield while his arm played with above-average strength and carry across the diamond, reaching up to 84 mph. His arm-strength easily translates over to the mound, where he sat 83-85 mph with his fastball. His breaking ball has out-pitch potential, playing with sharp/downer 11/5 break at 67-70 mph - he also featured a knuckleball with killed spin and unpredictable action, 71-72 mph. His delivery is controlled and simple; moving with a medium leg-lift into balance point before transitioning into a drop/drive lower-half. His arm plays short and simple out of the glove, moving into a high ¾ slot that plays quick to release.

Arm: RH. INF - 84 mph. 3/4 slot with life out of the hand, plays on the move and from multiple angles.
Defense: Active feet, fluid hands and actions, plays in rhythm, feel for the position, range laterally, clean transfer.
Run: 4.05 runner in the 30-yard dash. 

Delivery: Controlled tempo and delivery, simple and repeats, medium leg-lift into balance point, slight drop/drive lower-half, stride works in-line.
Arm Action: RH. Short arm circle into a high 3/4 slot, quick/clean arm.
FB: T86, 84-85 mph. Explodes through the zone with life and horizontal movement,  T2073, 1967 average rpm.
CB: 68-70 mph. Sharp, downer action, advanced offering for his age with swing-and-miss traits.  T2135, 2035 average rpm.
KN: 71-72 mph. Kills spin, unpredictable movement.

Hit: RHH. Tall, open setup, short stride.  Creates hand separation into a loose/level path through the zone, line-drives.
Power: 83.7 max exit velocity, averaged 76.2 mph. 180’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 77 mph. High 3/4 slot, above average arm strength,  plays loose out of multiple angles.
Defense: Fluid footwork, steady hands, clean exchange.
Run: 5.07 runner home-to-first.

Delivery: Simple tilt and topple delivery, short stride, lands squared to home.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm action, works out of high 3/4 slot.
FB: T78.1, 76.7-77.9 mph. Above average arm side run, showed finish. T1877, 1820 average rpm.
CB: 61.7-64.4 mph. Gradual 11/5 break. T1982, 1830 average rpm.
CH: 63.2-68.2 mph. Mostly straight, showed feel. T1559, 1328 average rpm.

Listed at 6-foot, 140 pounds, RHP Drew Borkowski (Huntley) came in alongside Redmond with the firmest fastball of the day at 78 mph. The wiry arm has a long arm action and showed advanced finish and arm-side-run to his fastball. Upside right-hander to keep an eye on.

Hit: RHH. Tall narrow setup, closed feet, coil pre-pitch, short stride.  Repeatable quick swing, long level bat path, gets extension after contact, working gap-to-gap, fluid rhythm.
Power: 70 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Run: 5.07 home-to-first.
