+ LHP Frankie Bilecki (Marist, 2024) is one of the top uncommitted arms in the state that’s been trending up all summer, leaving behind strong impressions on our staff at The Rock and Creekside. At 6-foot-2, 190-pounds, Bilecki is an intentful mover downhill with a power fastball, peaking at 88.6 mph, while pitching at 85-87 mph throughout. Off that, Bilecki spun a tight slider with late break that grabbed uncomfortable, off-balance swings in the mid-to-upper-70s. He punched out four batters over two innings of work at this event and is a high follow uncommitted southpaw headed into the fall.
7/20/23
Currently ranked No. 91 in the state. Standing 6-foot-2, 190-pounds, the southpaw showed off a lively fastball that reached up to 89 mph, sitting right at 86-88 mph. He went to a sharp slider at 77-79 mph to collect swings and misses. Flashed a straight change at 81 mph. Impressive look at the uncommitted southpaw, who has now raised his stock with his recent velocity jump.
4/08/23
Uncommitted and currently ranked No. 104 in the class. 6-foot-1, 185-pounds, long-levered, athletically-built, left-handed pitcher toed the rubber for Marist against Notre Dame College Prep and making his first start of the season. Bilecki went three innings facing 11 batters and struck out seven of them while not allowing a hit and walking one. Deliberate, stretch-only delivery, slight drop and drive action working in rhythm and staying directional to him. Short and quick arm action, repeating out of a ¾ slot. Showed a fastball, changeup and curveball arsenal in his three-inning sting. He used a four-seam fastball used to get ahead in the count which played with some life and held at 82-85 mph throughout. His go-to secondary was the curveball, coming in on a 1/7 plane with depth working down in the zone at 69-71 mph. He mixed in his changeup occasionally to keep hitters off the fastball; played with slight arm-side action at 74-75 mph. Uncommitted junior arm to follow closely moving forward.
3/02/23
From the left hand side, three southpaws showed above average fastballs at the Preseason All-State. Frankie Bilecki (Marist, 2024), Ethan Eberle (Normal Community, 2024) and Jacob Gimbel (Joliet, Catholic, 2024) all worked in the mid to upper 80’s. Bilecki sat 84-86 mph with good depth to his curveball. Eberle was up to 87-88 mph with natural arm side run and flashing a sharp breaking ball. Gimbel sat 86-87 mph and showed a four pitch mix highlighted by a sinking changeup with arm speed.

Uncommitted. Standing at 5-foot-10, 155-pounds, looks larger than listed with a high waist. Started on the mound for No. 23 Marist and impressed throughout his outing. The southpaw’s arm works short out of the glove into a high ¾ slot. Repeatable/simple delivery, hunches over slightly into a leg-kick to prevent his spine from swaying too far to the third base side, works down the mound with a slight crossfire delivery, creating a tough look for lefties. His fastball sat in the 80-82 mph range with notable sinking action; while also pairing with a sharp 1/7 breaking ball that he consistently landed for strikes while also keeping it down, 69-70 mph and threw to both righties and lefties.

LHP/OF Francis Bilecki (Marist, 2024) made a splash on monday with one of the more impressive ‘pens on the day. Standing at 6-foot, 165-pounds, the southpaw worked exclusively from the stretch with a repeatable drop/drive delivery and loose/clean arm. His fastball worked in the 81-84 mph range, riding through the zone with notable arm-side action. The left-hander’s best secondary offering was a sinking changeup that featured heavy movement to the arm-side, thrown at 76-77 mph with feel for the lower quadrant of the zone. Bilecki then went to a sharp 1/7 breaking ball at 70-71 mph, thrown with near identical fastball arm-speed and kept primarily low while pairing off his other two offerings effectively. The left-handed hitting two-way prospect also is notable in the box due to his loose levers and sneaky jump off the barrel. There are plenty of more gains to come for Bilecki down the road.
