Creighton commit, 6-foot-3, 215-pound right-handed pitcher, build looks lean. Slight drop and drive type delivery, looked comfortable and easy, controlled the pace of play and commands the mound. Strong arm, ¾ slot. Showed starter capabilities at the next level, feel for three pitches with lower effort. Fastball sat 88-89 mph touched 90 mph in the first, held 86-88 mph throughout, runs hard to arm side. Slider is plus, swing and miss action, 10/4 shape, 74-77 mph. Struck out eight in five innings, five on sliders, three of them swinging, no walks.

7/10/18 - Creighton University commit. 6-foot-3, 215-pound, durable lower half, wide-shouldered, physical, right-handed pitcher. One of the hardest throwing right-handers in the Midwest, recorded the firmest fastball of the day at 93 mph. Holderfield struck out two in his one inning of work. Profiles as a late/inning reliever with an advanced fastball/slider combination. Side rocker-step wind up, drop and drive delivery with rhythm and effort throughout. Loose, quick, clean arm action out of a ¾ slot. Fastball, jumps out of the hand, heavy, bowling ball type when down in the zone, sat 90-91 mph, touched 93. Slider, out-pitch, thrown with aggression, flashed 10/4, power action, 78 mph.

4.21.18 - Creighton commit, currently ranked No. 11 in the Illinois’ 2019 class. Started on the mound for Oak Park-River Forest. Went 6.2 innings, scattered seven hits, three earned runs, struck out six and walked one. Used a fastball/slider combination throughout. Drop and drive delivery, quick arm from a ¾ slot and works with effort. Heavy fastball, creates run and sink. Majority of balls put in play are on the ground. Fastball sat 87-89 mph early on by the sixth inning was more 84-85 mph. Goes to his slider often, flashes swing and miss action, throws it aggressively, sharp, sweeping action, 73-77 mph. Saw one changeup at 81 mph. High-level 2019 arm, may be best suited for the bullpen at the next level but handled himself well throughout his start. Works well out of the stretch, understands how to hold the running game.

3.29.18 - Creighton commit, currently ranked No. 11 in Illinois’ Class of 2019. 6-foot-3, 215-pound, right-handed pitcher, durable, thick, physical build, strong upper and lower half. Operated as the closer against Nazareth, entering in the seventh inning leading by two runs. In true closer fashion, took the mound with no sleeves under his jersey on a day when the wind chill dipped to near freezing. Struck out the first two batters on 90 and 89 mph fastballs, respectively, before getting the final batter to fly out. Major presence on the mound, competitive and confident. Works from a ¾ slot with a short, loose arm action. Fastball, heavy life, running in to righties and painting the outside corner to lefties, sat 88-90. Threw one slider at 80 mph, hard and sharp action. Continuing to trend up, potentially entering 2019 draft discussions.

2.11.18 - Creighton commit. 6-foot-3, 215-pound right-handed pitcher, thick physical build, strong lower half. Drop and drive delivery, really gets into lower half, lands square, and works online, some effort. Arm action is short and loose, plus arm strength for age, ¾ slot. Fastball runs to arm side, virtually sat 92 mph, 89-90 once, plus fastball for age. Slider is hard and sharp, fastball arm speed, 79-82 mph, 10/4 shape, plus potential. Changeup runs hard to arm side, fastball arm speed, 83-86 mph. Electric session, continued outings like this could move his name into draft discussions.

9.23.17 - Creighton recruit, currently ranked No. 45 in Illinois’ 2019 class. 6-foot-3, 215-pound right-handed pitcher with wide shoulders and strong lower half. Fastball worked predominately at 85-86 mph, and touched 89 once. Erratic around the zone. Relied heavily on his 73-77 mph slider for strikes; threw a handful with short, late 11/5 action. 

6.7.17 - 6-foot-3, 215-pound two-way player, large build and frame with strength. Left-handed hitter, open stance, toe tap trigger. Raw power, flat through the zone at times, pull side power approach, shows bat speed. 94 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm played long from a high ¾ slot, carried at 86 mph across. Feel around the bag, solid athlete at first. 7.91 runner in the 60. Right-handed pitcher, stretch only, high ¾ slot, quick loose arm. Fastball flashed arm side run, feel for the zone, 82-84 mph. Slider was best secondary, sweeping action, 71-72 mph, more consistent with it. Curveball played 11/5, ranged 69-73 mph.

4.13.17 - 6-foot-2, 220-pound, strong, durable two-way prospect with a thick lower half. Started at third base and hit in the three-hole. Left-handed hitter, open setup, looks to do damage with every swing, present bat speed. Stays short to the ball, makes consistent hard contact. Finished the day 2-for-3 with a hard line-drive single back up the middle in his final at-bat. Right-handed pitcher, came out of the bullpen and threw one inning. Short quick arm from a high ¾ window. Fastball flashed life through the hitting zone, works up in the zone at times, 81-83 mph, touched 85. Struck out one and gave up one hit in his inning of work.

9.21.16 - 6-foot-2, 220-pound right-handed pitcher with a large, strong frame. Works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short, quick arm action. Tall and fall, online delivery with a square landing and smooth rhythm. Good balance throughout delivery. Fastball showed slight running action at 79-82 mph with good command. Thrown for a strike 60% of the time. Throws both a curveball and slider, both show similar 11-5 shape with sharp breaking action. Curveball sat 67-72 mph, slider sat 70-72 mph, thrown a little harder with tight rotation. Threw every curveball for a strike. Slider thrown for a strike 71% of the time.

7.26.16 - Large frame, 6-foot-2, 220-pound left-handed hitting two-way player. Hits out of a tall setup, lifted stride. Lower half collapses, pull side elevated contact with power, bat strength present, 86 mph exit velocity from the tee. Middle of the lineup type bat with pop to pull side. Defensively showed arm strength across the diamond, 81 mph, carries from a high ¾ slot. Hands played, average range, corner infield defender. On the mound arm plays from a high ¾ slot. Fastball runs, occasionally heavy, 78-81 mph. Breaking ball is 66-67, short gradual action, 11/5 type.

1.17.16 - 6-foot-2, 225-pound, left-handed hitting 1B/RHP. Offensively hits from a balanced slightly open stance. Long stride back to even, slight collapse on backside. Gap to gap hitter with a level swing path. Showed strength thru contact with 88 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 8.44. Defensively has a short arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Threw 79 mph across the infield. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short arm action. Tall and fall delivery with a square landing. Fastball sat 79-80 topping out at 81 mph. Threw curveball for strikes that showed slider action at 64-66 mph. Changeup showed occasional cutting action at 72-74 mph.
