Unsigned senior, OF Jake Donahue (Plainfield Central HS, IL), continues to show that he is one of the top position players still available in Illinois. Donahue has loose, quick hands at the plate, is ready to hit when he steps in the box and was consistently on-time using the middle of the field. Donahue finished with two singles in the game.
5-foot-11, 155-pound, lean, right-handed hitting outfielder. Currently ranked No. 61 in the Illinois’ 2020 class and one of the top uncommitted outfielders in the state. Hit at the top of the order and played center field. Loose, quick hands, consistently on time and aggressive to the fastball. Bat stays level through the zone, consistently finds the barrel and will use the entire field. In center field, threw out two runners on the bases, including a strike to home plate to cut down a would-be, go-ahead run.
2.18.19 - 5-foot-11, 155-pound, athletically-built, right-handed hitting outfielder. Offensively, balanced setup, slight crouch, short stride, engaged lower half, maintains balance through finish. Bat speed, stays short to the baseball, natural lift, gap-to-gap approach, extension through ball, fluid rhythm throughout. Exit velocity of 90 mph off the tee. Defensively, over the top slot, short arm action, flashing carry, consistent finishing through target. Plays through ball, clean exchange. Throws 84 mph from position.
