4/27/23

George Washington commit. Currently ranked No. 70 in the state. Has continued to add to his frame over the years, now standing 6-foot-2, 185-pounds with present strength throughout. Hit in the leadoff spot and recorded a double in gameplay. The left-handed hitter has a quiet confidence in the box, boasting an athletic swing that is loose and whippy, showing a knack for the barrel over multiple looks now. Defensively, he showed soft/confident hands at first-base with feel for the position and fluid footwork around the bag. Left-handed bat that has continued to trend in the right direction.

INF Josh Wenz (Neuqua Valley, 2023) appears to have added some significant strength since we last saw him at our Underclass Games last July. He’s now built at an athletic 6-foot-2, 182-pounds with clear proportional strength attached throughout his frame. The left-handed hitting Wenz took an impressive round of batting practice, showing off gap-to-gap power with multiple batted balls that left his bat at 90-plus mph, including one at 95.5 mph off the bat that traveled an estimated 360 feet, per TrackMan. On the infield, Wenz is a steady defender, playing from the ground up with soft hands and he also showcased a smooth double play turn. Emerging left-handed hitting infielder to follow moving forward.
7/21/20

6/18/20

Listed at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds; long, athletic levers, projection. Left-handed hitter, slightly crouched setup, stays quiet and has a short, uphill path. Smooth, rangy actions at shortstop, plays exceptionally well on the move for age; fluid, strong throws with carry. A blossoming prospect to know within Illinois’ ‘23 class.
