Lockport Preseason I.D.: Top Overall Prospects

On Feb. 15, the PBR Illinois staff hosted the Lockport Preseason I.D. at the Bo Jackson Elite Sports Dome in Lockport, Ill. The event hosted over 150 prospects from around the state to showcase their skillset in front of our scouting staff, and with a roster that size, there was no doubt we’d be uncovering some new names, as well as tracking the progress of prospects already on our follow lists.

We began to roll out our position-by-position analysis earlier this week, with the day’s outfielderscatchersinfielders, and pitchers. Today, we’re concluding this event's coverage by ranking the top 2022, 2023, and 2024 players in attendance.

TOP 2022 PROSPECTS

MAX HANSMANNRHP / SS / YORK, IL / 2022

Positional Profile: RHP/SS; Possesses one of the best breaking balls in the '22 class, that we have seen to date.
Body: 6-foot, 173-pounds.
Delivery: Tall/fall delivery with smooth rhythm, easy effort, shoulders stay leveled, works in line, lands squared and athletic.
Arm Action: RH. Short quick arm action, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T86, 82-85 mph. Straight action, thrown for strikes. T2495, 2364 average rpm.
CB: 72-74 mph. Advanced spin metrics. Sharp 11/5 action, thrown with arm speed, potential out-pitch. T2856, 2792 average rpm.
CH: 76-79 mph. Plays straight. T1894, 1835 average rpm.
