McHenry County College commit. On the week, Grubich went 7-for-15 (.467) with a home run, two doubles, and four RBIs. On the mound he threw 10 innings with 14 strikeouts, four earned runs, and a win against Prairie Ridge. In their 7-3 win over No. 4 Huntley, Grubich threw five innings with seven strikeouts, three walks, two earned runs, and four hits allowed.

A clear winner from this weekend, Grubich made a loud appearance in relief for GRB Rays Illinois 2023 on Saturday at our PBR at The Rock Fall Championships. A strong 6-foot, 182-pound that’s fresh off the football field, Grubich sat mostly at 85 mph with his fastball, reaching an 86 mph high. It’s a hard-running heater with natural arm-side run that barrels its way into the zone, making it hard to square up. Grubich also threw an upper-70s slider with intent and conviction that showed tight spin off plane. He’ll definitely be an arm to monitor into next year, especially with another full off-season under his belt.

5-foot-10, 170-pound, wiry, left-handed pitcher; plenty of room for continued physical development. Started on the mound for Pro Player and handled tough elements (steady rain and 40 degree temperatures) with ease. Athletic, low-effort delivery, repeated and commanded his fastball. Fluid, easy arm action, plays clean from a ¾ slot; arm action and low-effort delivery project for more velocity to come. Worked both sides of the plate with the fastball, fastball has action in the zone; sat 75 mph. Bounced off the mound to make multiple plays throughout his start. Showed advanced body control and athleticism. Pitchability left-handed pitcher with more velocity to come.
