5/10/23

Showing good velocity out of the Illinois’ bullpen, right-hander Tabeling touched 95 on Friday and 96 on Saturday earning a spot on the Stalker Sport #HeatSheet in Week 12. He can also really spin it with a swing/miss 76-78 mph breaker when he finds the zone. It’s a high spinner into the 2900 rpm range with hard, late action. Tabeling is more thrower than pitcher at this point in his development, but the upside is tantalizing.

7/25/19

5-foot-11, 190- pound RHP, Wright State commit, presents an athletic proportionate frame, strong lower half. Drop and drive type, long loose arm action from a high ¾ arm slot. Three pitch mix of fastball, curveball, and changeup. Fastball was 84-86 mph topping out at 87 mph, curveball at 72-74 mph with tight hard spin at 11/5 shape, and a change up at 82 mph. Worked 2 â…“ innings against PBA.

2/10/19

Wright State commit. 5-foot-11, 190-pound right-handed pitcher, thick build, barrel chested. Starting pitcher profile, excellent mound presence and moxy. Tall and fall delivery, lands square, works on line, repeatable delivery, easy effort. Arm action is long and quick, high ¾ slot. Fastball pounds the zone, late run and sink, sat 85-87 mph, touched 88 mph. Curveball is sharp with depth, 12/6 plane, swing and miss type pitch, fastball arm speed, above average feel, 72-75 mph. Changeup sinks to arm side, 81-82 mph, near fastball arm speed.

2/18/18

5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed pitcher, average build. Delivery works from glove side of the mound, loads into balance point, lands square. Arm action is long, high ¾ slot, little effort. Fastball runs well to arm side, 82-83 mph, touched 84 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape, occasionally sharp, throws with confidence and feel, 72-74 mph. Changeup fades to arm side, ranged 73-78 mph.

1/29/17

5-foot-11, 165-pound left-handed hitting RHP/3B. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a short, quick arm action. Full over the head tall and fall delivery with a closed landing and upright finish. Fastball sat 79-82 mph. Curveball is a plus offering with 12-6 shape with tight rotation and sharp breaking action at 68-70 mph for strikes. Changeup sat 74-77 mph, controlled it better from the stretch. At the plate hits from a tall, open stance with a leg kick stride and average balance. Opposite field hitter with an uphill swing path. Showed strength thru contact with 83 mph exit velocity from a tee. 4.42 runner down the line. Defensively has a long arm action from an over the top slot. Throws showed carry across the infield at 81 mph.
