Uncommitted and standing in at a twitchy and athletic 6-foot-1, 185-pounds, Phillips showed upside on both sides of the ball Saturday morning. Currently ranked No. 92 in the state, the right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 with two walks and two RBI out of the leadoff spot for the Huskies. He displayed a very patient approach at the dish, drawing a bases-loaded walk at one point to give OPRF the lead in the game. He also put his athleticism on display on the basepaths stealing two bags. Defensively, he moves with ease and accuracy, and has the ability to cover ground gap-to-gap. As one of the top remaining uncommitted players in the state, Phillips is a name to keep an eye on throughout the spring.
